Palworld Ancient Civilization Parts are needed to craft some of the game’s more exotic structures, technology, and items, but they are also extremely rare, which makes farming them tough. Worse, Palworld doesn’t give you much to go on about where to track down these valuable parts.

Ancient Civilization Parts and Ancient Technology Points

Before we dive in, it’s important to note the distinction between Ancient Civilization Parts and Ancient Civilization Points. Ancient Civilizations Points unlock Ancient Technology recipes in the Technology tree (the purple column down the right-hand side), while Ancient Civilization Parts are a crafting material used to craft the Ancient Technology recipes, such as the Egg Incubator, Grappling Gun, and Single-Shot Sphere Launcher.

Where to find Ancient Civilization Parts in Palworld

Ancient Civilization Parts are obtained in several ways:

  • As drops for catching or defeating Alpha Pals
  • As drops for catching or defeating dungeon bosses
  • As drops for capturing or defeating Lucky Pals

Alpha Pals

Alpha Pals are bosses that spawn in fixed locations across the map and are souped up versions of traditional Pals with massive red health bars and big damage numbers. Alpha Pals appear on the map once you’ve discovered them to make finding them easier. They also respawn roughly once every real-world hour that you spend in-game. Each time you kill one, you’ll get Ancient Civilization Parts.

Chillet is one of the first you’ll come across that you can actually take down early on and is located directly north of the Grassy Behemoth Hills fast travel point. You’ve also likely met Mammorest in the Windswept Hills, but fighting them in the early-game is a fool’s errand and best left for when you’re closer to their level. Venture further out and you’ll find Alpha Pals like Kingpaca northwest of the Small Settlement fast travel spot, and Petallia north of the Ancient Ritual Site fast travel point.

Conveniently, the map marks any Alpha Pals you’ve killed and that haven’t respawned with a tick mark. You can fight them again to farm Ancient Civilization Parts, but you’ll only get Ancient Civilization Points the first time you defeat them.

With that in mind, the best way to farm Ancient Civilization Parts is to do Alpha Pal runs of the bosses you know you can kill quickly, then repeat every few hours. It’s worth noting that you won’t get Ancient Civilization Parts for killing Syndicate Tower bosses like Zoe and Grizzbolt at the Rayne Syndicate Tower.

Dungeon bosses

Less reliable than Alpha Pals and their guaranteed Ancient Civilization Parts drops, dungeon bosses have a high chance of dropping parts. You’ll find dungeons scattered around the map. Look out for cave entrances and the like. To get you started, there’s one on the beach just southwest of the Grassy Behemoth Hills fast travel spot.

We find that dungeon bosses aren’t as efficient a method as the Alpha Pals, purely because it’s easy to get lost in the dungeons twisting paths and you’ll waste a lot of time tracking down the boss. That said, you can farm sulfur, Pals, and Syndicate Thugs for other materials while you’re there so it may be worth it in some situations.

Lucky Pals

Lastly, Lucky Pals drop Ancient Civilization parts when captured or killed. These are basically Palworld’s equivalent of a rare shiny Pal, larger than their normal variants, tougher, and with better overall stats, which makes them worth capturing for your base regardless of the Ancient Civilization Parts drop.

Among other things, Ancient Technology Points can be used to unlock shields, Spheres, egg incubators, and other beneficial tools and gear.
