Want to know how to get Nox in Palworld? Nox is a Pal that only appears at night time if that wasn’t obvious from its name.
Thankfully, Nox can be found in abundance near the starting island, and they are a fairly low-level Pal. If you want to get one, you should be able to encounter them without any problems.
Before we get into Nox and how to catch this Pal, make sure you read our guides covering how to get Verdash and our picks for the fastest mounts in Palworld. Now, let’s take a look at how to get Nox in Palworld.
Nox location in Palworld
Nox can be found on the starting island, at almost every section of it during night time. With that said, Nox does seem to be rather shy and its spawn rates are very low. Nox only appears at night time, which means you cannot find them spawning at all during the day. To find a Nox, wait until it’s dark and start looking around. You shouldn’t have any trouble finding one, since they will be spawning en masse.
Change the length of days in the World settings
If you don’t want to wait for a full day and night cycle in-game, you can adjust the length of days in the game’s settings. You can change these settings in the ‘World Settings’ option before you load into your game.
If you see the map image above, you can see that Nox technically can appear at any of these places, but it seems like the chance of having it appear is low. We caught our Nox to the northwest, right next to the Forgotten Island Church Ruins fast travel point. If you can’t find Nox on the start island, look further afield.
How to catch Nox in Palworld
Nox is a strong combat Pal, which means they should join you on your travels instead of being assigned to work in a base. Since Nox is a low-level Pal, you should be able to beat it just by using your own attacks. Either craft a bat or a wooden stick for whacking it.
Your Pals might be too strong and accidentally kill it, so make sure you watch your DPS. Catching a Pal in Palworld is generally the same process over and over again, but you should always aim your Pal Spheres so you don’t waste them with a missed throw.
As a quick note, you should always try and throw your Pal Spheres at a Pal’s back, as this will significantly increase your chances of capturing the Pal. If you happen to have a Large Dark Egg, you should use an incubator to hatch it and have a chance to get Nox from one of these eggs.
Palworld – Nox Skills
One of the main aspects of Pals in Palworld is their skills, and Nox isn’t anything special when it comes to base skills. With only one skill in Gathering, you have plenty of other Pals who can outperform Nox, which means you should focus on using Nox in combat outside of your base. This is the only base skill Nox has is Level 1 Gathering.
Gathering lets your Pal harvest crops, which is only useful if you have a Pal who has Gathering alongside Planting and Watering. Since Nox doesn’t have these skills, you should consider using other Pals at your base.
In combat, Nox uses dark damage to harm enemies. Thanks to the Partner Skill of Nox, Kuudere, Nox will apply Dark damage to the player’s attacks, letting you dish out some nice combos. Here is a list of Nox’s active skills in battle:
Level | Attack Name | Effect |
---|---|---|
Level 1 | Air Cannon | Quickly fires a burst of highly pressurized air. |
Level 7 | Dark Ball | Unleashes a sphere of darkness that slowly tracks down the enemy. |
Level 15 | Shadow Burst | Quickly discharges dark energy, damaging those around it. |
Level 22 | Power Bomb | Charges a massive amount of energy before firing a large destructive ball. |
Level 30 | Spirit Flame | Fires three balls of malice that relentlessly pursue an enemy. |
Level 40 | Nightmare Ball | Creates a giant ball of darkness and hurls it at an enemy. |
Level 50 | Dark Laser | Charges dark energy before blasting enemies with a powerful beam. |
Nox item Drops and Materials
Nox drops Leather and a Small Pal Soul. Capturing, killing, or Butching a Pal will grant you items based on what it can drop. Most Pals drop the same item, and this is the case with Nox. Leather isn’t especially rare nor are Small Pal Souls, so don’t worry about having to farm Nox for any of these items. You will naturally come across them by playing the game.
Capture or kill?
If you’re calculated with your Pals, you could opt to first capture it, to receive the drops, and then Butcher it to get the drops once again. This method will see you murder quite a few Pals, but you can get double the drops from one Pal.
Nox is usually found in low-level areas, meaning its base stats will be low when you fight or capture one. If you really need help beating Nox, bring a Dragon-type Pal, since the Dark element is weak Dragon element Pals.
