Apex Legends is getting a Cyberpunk crossover with a hacked Night City E-District map

 <dc:content>
Apex Legends is heading to Night City next week as EA and Respawn have revealed an excellent new Cyberpunk crossover event for the battle royale.

The Apex Legends x Cyberpunk Event goes live across all platforms on July 14 and brings CD Projekt Red’s chrome-soaked universe into the Outlands with a limited-time E-District makeover, Cyberpunk-themed skins, new Wildcard modifiers, and a Mythic version of Skippy.

The headline addition is Night City E-District, a temporary redesign of the Apex Legends map that gives the Outlands a heavy dose of neon, holograms, glitching signage, and all the general visual noise you would expect from a Cyberpunk crossover. The refreshed map features neon skyboxes, holographic koi drifting above the streets, and enough hacked-up city dressing to make it feel like the Legends have accidentally wandered into a very different dystopia.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5_6GRFK13vc
The event will also add two new Cyberware mods to Wildcard. Sandevistan gives players quick directional dashes, letting them chain two dashes before touching the ground, which should make it useful for closing gaps or getting out of danger quickly. Blackwall Breach, meanwhile, lets players phase into the Net to reposition before returning with a disruptive EMP blast.

There is also a Cyberpsychosis mechanic tied to the use of Cyberware. As players make use of these new mods, their Cyberware Capacity fills. Push it too far and they will enter a Cyberpsycho state, gaining boosted movement speed and powerful melee damage. There is, obviously, a catch. While in that state, players lose access to weapons, abilities, shields, and ordnance, which means going full Cyberpsycho is less of a free power-up and more of a very dangerous gamble.

Players will be able to manage Cyberpsychosis using Immunoblocker Syringes found around the map, while Immunoblocker Caches can fully reset the meter.

The crossover also brings a new Mythic Skippy Alternator, inspired by Cyberpunk’s famously mouthy smart pistol. Players will be able to activate either “Puppy Loving Pacifist” or “Stone Cold Killer” mode, with Skippy providing its own commentary along the way. The weapon can also be upgraded with Exotic Shards to unlock new visuals, ordnance skins, and knock effects.

As expected, there are plenty of cosmetics in the mix too. Players can earn Eddies during the event and spend them in the Reward Shop, which includes an Arasaka Epic Valkyrie skin, a Kang-Tao Epic Mirage skin, and more.

There will also be eight premium Legend skins for Axle, Sparrow, Lifeline, Crypto, Rampart, Loba, Ash, and Gibraltar, alongside eight weapon skins for the Wingman, Charge Rifle, Mastiff, L-STAR, P2020, RE-45, R-301, and Kraber.

The Apex Legends x Cyberpunk Event launches on July 14 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via the EA App, Epic Games Store, and Steam.
</dc:content>

Every J.League team now has its own official Pokémon partner

 <dc:content>
Football has had some strange crossovers over the years, but Japan’s J.League may just have produced one of the best yet, as every professional club in the country has now been assigned its own official Pokémon. I mean, it would be less likely in the UK if Brentford got one, but Japan gonna Japan.

The collaboration between The Pokémon Company and the J.League has been announced as part of Pokémon’s 30th anniversary celebrations, with all 60 teams across Japan’s top three divisions getting what is being called a “Club Partner Pokémon.” Yes, that means every club now has its own officially sanctioned monster buddy, and frankly, more leagues should be doing this immediately.

The tie-in is themed around “Evolution,” partly because Pokémon is celebrating three decades since the original Red and Green games launched in Japan, and partly because the J.League itself is moving into a new era with its 2026/27 season kicking off on August 7. As branding exercises go, that is a fairly tidy open goal.

Some of the choices are pretty inspired, too. Kashima Antlers have been paired with Charizard, Urawa Reds get Incineroar, Gamba Osaka have Luxray, Kyoto Sanga get Gengar, FC Machida Zelvia get Greninja, and Vissel Kobe are now partnered with Houndoom, which honestly feels like it should make their next home shirt mandatory viewing.

The promotion is not just a social media graphic, either. Fans attending selected home matches between August and September will be able to pick up an exclusive Pokémon eco bag featuring their club badge and partner Pokémon. Around one million bags are set to be given away across the country, and they will not be sold separately, meaning the only way to get one officially is by actually going to a participating match.

That, of course, probably means the resale market is already warming up somewhere in the distance, because limited Pokémon merch plus football fans plus region-locked stadium is not going to end well for everyday collectors.

The J.League has also said clubs will be holding Pokémon J.League Festival events, with some teams already confirming additional stadium activity, merchandise, and even Pokémon GO tie-ins. Gamba Osaka, for example, says its September 12 match against FC Tokyo will include its own Pokémon festival day, with all eligible home supporters receiving the club’s Luxray bag at the gates.

It is not the first time Pokémon has crossed over with football. The franchise previously worked with the English FA for the Pokémon Futsal programme, which included special trading cards featuring Pikachu, Eevee, Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble. It has also collaborated with FC Seoul in South Korea.

Still, giving every professional club in a national league its own Pokémon feels like a different level of commitment. The Premier League is now under pressure, because if Everton do not get Psyduck and Manchester United do not get Magikarp, what are we even doing here?
</dc:content>

Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.4 brings Himeko Nova and Fate/stay night crossover this July

 <dc:content>
HoYoverse has confirmed that Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.4, titled “In Ravages Does the Whistle Sound,” will launch on July 15, bringing a major new story chapter, a fresh form for Himeko, and the next phase of the game’s Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works] collaboration.

Version 4.4 continues the ongoing Planarcadia storyline, with the Trailblazer drawn into a crisis that threatens the survival of the world itself. Following the events of the previous chapter, Lord Ravager Asat Pramad has revealed his true identity, shattered the peace that Planarcadia had maintained for 15 years, and left Himeko missing after their confrontation.

In the new story content, players will follow a hidden clue left behind by Himeko before her disappearance, with the Express Crew attempting to track her down and uncover the truth behind Asat Pramad’s motives. His fixation on Himeko’s identity, as well as the mystery of what happened 15 years earlier, appears to sit at the heart of the new chapter, which will eventually lead the Trailblazer into a direct battle with the Lord Ravager.

The headline addition is Himeko • Nova, a new 5-star version of Himeko who will be available throughout the whole of Version 4.4. Himeko • Nova is a Fire-Type Erudition character who fights alongside a mech called Starblazer.

When combat begins, Himeko • Nova immediately deploys a Territory and summons Starblazer to assist the team. Her Ultimate allows her allies to pilot the mech and attack enemies, while the Territory also gives teammates access to an Assist Skill that can call Starblazer into battle. Express Crew members will gain additional special effects, giving her kit some obvious synergy with familiar faces from the Astral Express.

She also gets a bit of flair outside combat, as her Technique lets her pilot Starblazer during overworld exploration and attack enemies from above.

Version 4.4 will also mark the second phase of the Honkai: Star Rail x Fate/stay night [Unlimited Blade Works] crossover, which officially begins on July 24. This new special chapter sees Rin Tohsaka arrive in Planarcadia after the Fifth Holy Grail War, where she ends up borrowing the Holy Grail from the Star Rail FEST collection showcase in an attempt to summon a Servant and escape this new world.

Naturally, because this is Honkai: Star Rail, things do not stay simple for long. The overflowing Wishpower in Planarcadia restores the Holy Grail, while Gilgamesh’s treasures are scattered across the arcadia, causing enough chaos for the Department of Aberration Defense to get involved. The Trailblazer will then work with Rin to hunt down the treasures and uncover the truth behind the Imagenae: Holy Grail War.

Both Rin Tohsaka and Gilgamesh will become playable 5-star characters as part of the crossover.

Rin is a Quantum-Type Erudition character who uses gems in battle. Her kit revolves around building and spending Gem Energy, which allows her to deal multiple extra hits of damage to random targets. She also benefits when teammates use or recover Skill Points, with CRIT DMG increasing and Rin gaining more Gem Energy as the fight develops.

Gilgamesh, meanwhile, is a Lightning-Type Destruction character. During battle, allies taking actions help Gilgamesh accumulate Interest, restore Energy, and increase the damage of his Ultimate. Once enough Interest has been gained, he can unleash Gate of Babylon, firing weapons from his treasury at enemies. His Ultimate summons Enuma Elish to deal heavy damage to all enemies.

From the start of the collaboration on July 24 until before Version 4.6 ends, players will also be able to log in and claim either Gilgamesh or Archer as a free limited 5-star collaboration character, along with some upgrade materials. HoYoverse has also confirmed that the collaboration characters and Light Cones will remain available long-term, with shared guarantee counts between both phases of the Collaboration Character Warps and Light Cone Warps.

Version 4.4 will also see the return of several limited 5-star characters. Sparxie, Dan Heng • Permansor Terrae, and Evernight will return in the first half of the update, while Cerydra, Anaxa, and Aventurine will return in the second half. Sparxie will also receive a new outfit, Candy-Coated Waves.

Elsewhere, players can expect a new pet called Pentaflavor Emoti, the Fan-Made Lygus Trailblaze Fashion item, a 10-pull login reward when the version goes live, and new events including Fate/Star Rail Night and Antigraft Brickbuster. The permanent mode Currency Wars: Zero-Sum Game will also be expanded and updated.

Honkai: Star Rail Version 4.4 launches on July 15 for PC, iOS, Android, Epic Games Store, and PS5.
</dc:content>

Borussia Dortmund is launching a football mode in Fortnite because of course football is in Fortnite now

 <dc:content>
Borussia Dortmund is heading into Fortnite with its own football mode, making BVB the first club worldwide to launch a dedicated football mode inside Epic’s battle royale platform, according to the club.

The new map is called Bolzplatz-Liebe, which translates as Street Football Love, and it will be available permanently from July 3, 2026. Rather than a short-lived crossover skin dump, Dortmund says the mode is designed as a long-term digital home for fans, players, partners, and sponsors.

Developed with studio DayZero, Bolzplatz-Liebe is a fast-paced 2v2 football mode built inside Fortnite. The map is inspired by the soccer court at Max-Michallek-Platz in Dortmund, a real pitch near Borsigplatz, which has major significance in the club’s history.

BVB says the mode will continue to evolve after launch, with community feedback shaping future content, events, and activations. That makes this less of a one-and-done Fortnite novelty and more of a proper digital fan space, which is exactly the kind of phrase football marketing departments were built in a lab to say.

Still, there is a clear electronic strategy here. Dortmund recently launched its 2026/27 home kit in Roblox’s FIFA Super Soccer, and the club says Bolzplatz-Liebe is the next step in its push into digital worlds. BVB is clearly chasing younger football fans where they already are, rather than waiting for them to drift towards traditional football media.Alexander Mühl, Borussia Dortmund’s Director of Marketing & Digitalization, said the club wants to create “a place where our community meets, plays and experiences BVB,” whether fans are in Dortmund or elsewhere in the world.

DayZero CEO Tobias Egartner added that gaming platforms are now major touchpoints for Gen Z and Gen Alpha, giving football clubs a way to reach younger audiences where they spend their free time.

There is no word yet on whether bad tackles will be punished by a child building a three-storey tower in half a second.
</dc:content>

Turok: Origins gameplay trailer brings back dinosaurs, aliens, and co-op carnage

 <dc:content>
Saber Interactive has released a new gameplay trailer for Turok: Origins, giving players a fresh look at the revived dinosaur-hunting shooter ahead of its launch later this year.

Turok: Origins is coming to PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2 in Fall 2026, with Saber promising a fast-paced sci-fi shooter that blends solo play with online co-op action. The new trailer shows the series moving firmly into modern action territory, with players taking on dinosaurs, alien enemies, and large boss encounters across the Lost Lands.

Players step into the role of the Order of the Turok, a group of mystical warriors locked in a fight to save humanity from extinction. This time, the threat is not just teeth, claws, and prehistoric rage, but a wider alien force aiming to wipe out human life across the galaxy.

The game will feature both first-person and third-person action, with players able to fight through the campaign alone or alongside friends in online co-op. Saber says the adventure will take players through ancient ruins, dense jungles, alien landscapes, and other areas hiding secrets tied to the Lost Lands.

Combat is built around a mix of futuristic weapons and special abilities. Players will be able to unlock and upgrade an arsenal that includes plasma rifles, sniper weapons, bows, shotguns, and experimental alien tech. There are also Turok Powers, unlocked by collecting Echoes, which allow players to customise their combat style and gain new advantages in battle.

Saber is also promising plenty of enemy variety, from dinosaurs and alien troops to large-scale boss fights designed to test skill, teamwork, and strategy. That co-op angle appears to be a major part of the new Turok’s identity, moving the franchise away from its purely old-school shooter roots and toward something built for modern online play.

The original Turok: Dinosaur Hunter launched in 1997 and became one of the Nintendo 64’s defining early shooters. It went on to spawn multiple sequels, including Turok 2: Seeds of Evil and Turok 3: Shadow of Oblivion, both of which have since been remastered by Nightdive Studios.

Turok: Origins is not a simple remake of those games, though. Saber is positioning it as a new beginning for the franchise, with a fresh story, redesigned gameplay, and a much heavier sci-fi focus. Still, the core appeal remains pretty obvious: dinosaurs, big weapons, and a lot of chaos.

Turok: Origins is available to wishlist now on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game is due to launch in Fall 2026 for PC, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
</dc:content>

Demon Slayer: The Hinokami Chronicles 2 gets Switch 2 release date and free upgrade path

 <dc:content>
Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 is heading to Nintendo Switch 2 later this year, with SEGA confirming a new edition for Nintendo’s new console.

Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 - Nintendo Switch 2 Edition + “Infinity Castle” Character Pass will launch on October 29, 2026, bringing the anime arena fighter to Switch 2 with several improvements over the original Nintendo Switch version.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-nsmBo-QX6c
The big one, as you might expect, is performance. SEGA says the Switch 2 version will feature 60FPS gameplay and higher-quality visuals, which should make the game feel a fair bit sharper in motion than the existing Switch release. Given this is a flashy 3D battler built around huge special attacks, dramatic camera swings, and anime-perfect finishing moves, the frame rate bump is probably the upgrade fans will care about most.

The Switch 2 release will also support two-player local and online Versus Mode, alongside cross-gen play between Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 users. That means players moving over to the newer hardware won’t be cut off from friends still playing on the original Switch version.

SEGA has also confirmed that the new Switch 2 bundle will include the “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinity Castle” Character Pass, bringing the game’s Versus Mode roster up to 54 playable characters.

The seven characters included in the pass are:
Tanjiro Kamado (Infinity Castle)Zenitsu Agatsuma (Infinity Castle)Giyu Tomioka (Infinity Castle)Shinobu Kocho (Infinity Castle)DomaAkaza (Infinity Castle)Kaigaku
The physical edition will be available at launch with the Infinity Castle Character Pass included, priced at $59.99 MSRP. SEGA says more details on the release will be shared in the coming months.

There is also good news for existing Switch owners, although there is a small catch. Anyone who already owns Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Hinokami Chronicles 2 physically or digitally on Nintendo Switch will be able to upgrade to the Nintendo Switch 2 version at no extra cost via a free upgrade pass.

However, the Infinity Castle Character Pass is not included with that upgrade. <dc:content>
Rockstar Games has confirmed that the standard edition of GTA 6 will be priced at $79.99, while the Grand Theft Auto VI: Ultimate Edition will be available for $99.99.

The game is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Pre-orders will begin at midnight on June 25, 2026.

GTA VI pre-orders and editions

According to Rockstar’s announcement, the Ultimate Edition includes additional digital content connected to Jason and Lucia’s story, including vehicles, weapons, apparel and other in-game items. All pre-orders and purchases made before November 20, 2026, will include the Vintage Vice City Pack.

Digital pre-orders will also include one free month of GTA+. Rockstar said that benefit will be redeemable immediately and can be used with Grand Theft Auto V and other titles included in the GTA+ Games Library.

Players who buy digital versions of Grand Theft Auto 6 will be able to begin pre-loading the game on November 12, 2026, one week before launch. Physical versions will also be available from November 12, but Rockstar said boxed copies will contain a download code rather than a disc which seems a bit ludicrous to me. I'd quite like a disc, though I do imagine we're not far off a future where discs literally don't exist.

Grand Theft Auto 6 will be sold through the PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Rockstar Games Store and participating global retailers. The game has not yet received an age rating.

Rockstar describes Grand Theft Auto 6 as a single-player experience set in what it calls the series’ largest and most immersive world to date. As of yet, we've no details about a potential GTA 6 online, but from job postings and industry rumors, we're almost certainit will come. It's just a matter of time.
</dc:content>

Warhammer 40,000: Darktide adds Skitarii class in new update

 <dc:content>
Fatshark has launched the Skitarii Class for Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, adding a new Adeptus Mechanicus-themed playable class to the co-op shooter.

The class is available as paid content on Steam, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. According to the announcement, the standard edition is priced at $11.99 / €11.99, while the Deluxe Edition is priced at $18.99 / €18.99.

The Skitarii Class lets players take on the role of a Skitarii Alpha Primus, an elite Adeptus Mechanicus operative equipped with cybernetic enhancements and faction-specific weapons. The class includes a non-linear talent tree and supports different playstyles, including ranged, melee, and electricity-based builds.

The class can also be supported by up to three servo skull companions. Companions can do all of the good stuff, such as hacking, reviving allies, and using flame-based attacks.

Skitarii players have access to Adeptus Mechanicus weaponry including arc weapons, phosphor blasters, transonic blades, and galvanic rifles. Character customization options include material types, augmentation patterns, Forge World origin, four voice sets, and voice modulation.

The launch is accompanied by additional Darktide content. The Heretical Artifacts live event tasks players with recovering stolen relics and choosing between two factions that provide different bonuses. The Adherents of Saint Messelina increase coherency radius, attack speed, and movement speed, while the Scourge of the Faithless focuses on increased damage, burn damage, and burn duration.

The update also adds Expeditions content, including a new scavenge zone and a version of Atoma’s badlands set at dawn. The developer has suggested the update includes environmental hazards, balance changes, quality-of-life improvements, and bug fixes.

Two new enemy types, the Scab Vanguard and Dreg Vanguard, have also been added. The announcement describes them as shield-bearing human enemies that are faster and more agile than Ogryn shield units.

Fatshark CEO and co-founder Martin Wahlund said community feedback had been “instrumental” to Darktide’s development, adding that the studio was looking forward to seeing players use servo skulls and experiment with new builds.
</dc:content>

 <dc:content>
ArenaNet, NC and bilibili have announced Mistbound, a free-to-play digital collectible card game set in the Guild Wars universe.

The game is officially licensed by ArenaNet, developed by NC and globally published by bilibili. It is in development for PC and mobile platforms, though a release date has not been announced.

Mistbound is positioned as the first digital card game spin-off based on Guild Wars. According to the announcement, the game will use characters, lore, art and music from the franchise while moving the series into a deckbuilding strategy format.

The main gameplay feature is a 5x3 tactical grid where players deploy cards and reposition them during matches. The companies describe this as “Dynamic Movement Gameplay,” with commanders and units able to move in response to enemy actions. The announcement also lists knockbacks, pulls, flanking opportunities and shifting offensive and defensive positioning as part of the game’s tactical system.

Players will take on the role of a commander, with iconic Guild Wars characters appearing as commanders with their own abilities and traits. Mistbound will also include a commander and profession system inspired by Guild Wars 2’s nine professions, allowing players to combine commanders with profession-based play styles.

ArenaNet studio head Colin Johanson said the team wanted to give Guild Wars players “a new way to play together” in a competitive CCG space. NC producer Hwang Sunwoo said the team wanted to put strategic complexity into the battlefield rather than making individual cards overly complex.

The announcement says Mistbound will include both single-player and multiplayer modes, but it does not give further details on those modes. It also does not disclose monetization details beyond the game being described as free-to-play.

bilibili will handle global publishing for the game. The company is also presenting community input as part of the project’s development approach, though details on future playtests or player access have not yet been confirmed.

More information is expected through Mistbound’s official website and YouTube channel.
</dc:content>

Sea of Thieves Season 20 changes Season Pass progression and renames Plunder Pass

 <dc:content>
Sea of Thieves Season 20 has brought with it a host of changes, including to the game's progression structure with a revised Season Pass, a renamed paid tier and new ways to earn Renown.

Yes, you're reading that right. Season 20. It only seems like yesterday that being a pirate and plundering people's loot was all the rage. While the game's not as popular, the devs are still pouring resources into the game, and Update 3.8.0 introduces a whole host of changes, including significant revisions to how you, the pirate, progress through the game.

Update 3.8.0 introduces a 50-level Season Pass. Players progress through the pass by raising Renown, with rewards available across the track. Every five levels, players can earn Doubloon Pouches, playable Voyages and a choice of cosmetic rewards that were previously available through the Pirate Emporium.

Completing all 50 levels of the Season 20 pass rewards the Greed’s Reach Cutlass as the Star Prize.

Players can also purchase a limited number of Season Pass levels during the season. The release notes state that up to 10 levels can be bought for 150 Ancient Coins each directly from the Season Pass. Purchased levels are granted to all Pirate Profiles, and newly unlocked rewards from those levels can be claimed immediately.

The Plunder Pass has also been renamed as the Premium Tier. Premium Tier players can earn Ancient Coins and the Sirens’ Splendour ship set during the season, including Collector’s Figurehead and Sails. Rare said players who complete the Premium Tier can earn back a total of 1,000 Ancient Coins, which can be spent in the Pirate Emporium or used toward a future Premium Tier.

Premium Tier owners also receive a boosted rate of Renown progression for Season 20. The paid tier can be purchased in-game through the Pirate Log or Pirate Emporium, through the Pirate Emporium webpage or through the Steam Item Store.

Season 20 also changes how Renown is earned, with more emphasis on deliberate actions at sea. Crews can earn Renown from completing Voyages, Tall Tales, and World Events, selling treasure, sinking Emissary Ships, taking part in Faction Battles, and competing in Last Ship Standing. Exploration and fishing will continue to provide smaller Renown rewards.

Season 20 does not use an Act structure. Instead, players can complete time-limited Deeds in Custom Seas to earn a boost to Seasonal Renown when returning to High Seas. Completing all available Deeds in Season 20 awards the Custom Crafter Sails.

For the full details and extensive patch notes, head over to the Sea of Thieves page here.
</dc:content>

Roblox launches Kids and Select accounts worldwide

 <dc:content>
Roblox has launched Roblox Kids and Roblox Select accounts worldwide, adding age-based account types that determine how younger users access games, chat features, and parental controls on the platform.

The global rollout began on June 16, 2026, following an initial launch in Australia, Indonesia, the Netherlands, and New Zealand. Roblox said users are automatically placed into an account type based on their age, with Roblox Kids covering younger children, Roblox Select covering older children and younger teens, and standard Roblox accounts intended for users aged 16 and over.

Roblox Kids accounts have the strictest default settings. Chat is disabled by default for users under 9, though parents can choose to allow in-game text chat for children aged 5 to 8. Where enabled, chat is limited to users in the same or similar age groups, or to Trusted Friends.

Roblox Select accounts are designed for users aged 9 to 15. These accounts allow access to a broader catalog than Roblox Kids, while retaining age-based limits. Roblox said chat access increases gradually for age-checked users in this group, with parents able to adjust standard chat settings until their child turns 16.

Users who have not completed an age check cannot use chat, regardless of their self-declared age. Roblox said age checks may use ID verification or secure facial age estimation. Self-declared users aged 5 to 8 are placed into Roblox Kids accounts with chat off, while self-declared users aged 9 and older are placed into Roblox Select accounts with chat off.

The new account types also affect which games are available to younger users. Roblox said games included in the Kids and Select catalogs undergo additional reviews beyond its standard moderation systems. Developers must verify their identity, secure their account with two-factor authentication, and either hold a subscription or pay a one-time refundable publishing fee before their games can be considered for younger users.

In addition, games with social hangout features, free-form drawing features, or sensitive issues are not allowed in the Kids or Select catalogs. Roblox Moments, a feature for sharing gameplay clips, is also unavailable to Kids and Select accounts at launch.

The company is also going to be limiting social media links. At launch, social media links can only be shared or viewed by age-checked users aged 16 or older across user profiles, game detail pages, Community pages, and Creator Hub pages.

Parents who link their Roblox account to a child’s account can use parental controls to adjust chat settings, block or allow specific games, manage Trusted Friend requests, view friend lists, and set screen-time or spending limits, depending on the child’s age.
</dc:content>

ArenaNet says Guild Wars 3 will have no subscription or paid battle pass

 <dc:content>
ArenaNet has said Guild Wars 3 will launch as a buy-to-play game, with no subscription fee and no paid battle pass system.

In a development update published June 16, Colin Johanson said the studio is carrying forward one of the central business model decisions behind the Guild Wars series: players buy the game and can return to it without paying a recurring fee.

“Guild Wars 3 will be a buy-to-play game at release,” Johanson said in the post. “There will be no subscription fee.”

ArenaNet also addressed battle passes and seasonal paid tracks, saying it views some of those systems as subscription-like mechanics when they create recurring payment pressure. Johanson said that when the studio says Guild Wars 3 will not have a subscription fee, it also means there will be no “battle pass subscription fees.”

The post does not say that Guild Wars 3 will have no additional purchases of any kind. ArenaNet said it expects to sell expansions and other optional items if players decide they are worth buying. The studio also repeated its long-standing position that paid items in Guild Wars should not give spending players an unfair advantage over players who spend time in the game.

According to the update, ArenaNet sees acceptable paid items as cosmetics, account services, and convenience items. The studio said pay-to-win systems are not acceptable for a Guild Wars game.

The monetization comments were part of a broader post about ArenaNet’s design philosophy for Guild Wars 3. Johanson said the studio is looking at modern MMOs and live-service games while trying to preserve what it sees as core expectations for the franchise, including respect for player time and avoiding recurring fee structures.

ArenaNet has not announced a release date for Guild Wars 3. The post also does not provide pricing, expansion details, or a full breakdown of the game’s in-game store.
</dc:content>

Stellaris: Nomads brings mobile empires to Paradox’s space strategy game

 <dc:content>
Paradox Interactive has released Stellaris: Nomads, the first expansion in Stellaris: Season 10, introducing civilizations that survive and grow without relying on fixed borders or traditional colonies.

The expansion is available as a standalone release, listed at £20.99, and is also included in the Season 10 pass. Its main feature is the new Nomadic Empire type, which changes the usual Stellaris loop by replacing territorial ownership with movement, contracts and mobile infrastructure.

The announcement notes that nomadic civilizations are built around Arkships, large mobile habitats that act as the centre of government, population, industry and military operations. Players can select from three Arkship classes depending on their preferred approach. The Military Class is designed for force projection, the Scientific Class supports exploration and research, and the Civilian Class focuses on industry and resource gathering.

Rather than expanding through claimed systems, nomadic empires build influence as they travel. The Wayline Network allows players to create Waystations and establish interstellar routes used for trade and resource movement. These routes can support the nomadic fleet while also benefiting settled empires.

Nomads also adds a Contract System, giving mobile civilizations a way to interact with established powers. Settled empires can issue tasks, while nomadic players can complete them for rewards such as resources, favor and influence.

The expansion includes several origins designed around different versions of life in motion. Voidfarers offers a flexible starting point, while Heirs of the Khan follows the successor of a murdered Khan. The Sacred Path frames the journey as a pilgrimage, and Forever Cruise focuses on class division aboard an Arkship.

Other additions include the Defender of the Galaxy Ambition, the Stellar Cannon megastructure, new civics, the Wanderlust Ascension Perk, renowned nomadic paragons, tradition swaps and new music. A new enclave, Champion’s Forge Live!, adds fleet tournaments where players compete for a Trophy relic.
</dc:content>

PUBG’s smoke grenades are about to become a lot less safe

 <dc:content>
PUBG: Battlegrounds is getting ready to make smoke grenades a lot more interesting, and probably a lot less trustworthy, with the arrival of its new Interactive Smoke system.

PUBG Studios has shown off the incoming feature in a new video, giving players a clearer look at one of the bigger gameplay changes coming to the battle royale this year. Instead of smoke acting like a simple grey wall that blocks sight until it fades away, the new system allows it to react to what is happening around it.

That means explosions, vehicles, and other battlefield chaos can push smoke around or temporarily clear sections of it, creating gaps where previously there would have been safe cover. In classic PUBG terms, that revive you thought was hidden behind a smoke grenade might suddenly become a lot less clever if someone starts chucking explosives into it.

The feature was first outlined in PUBG’s 2026 roadmap, where the developer described Interactive Smoke as one of the headline in-game additions planned for the year. The idea is to make smoke grenades behave more like physical objects in the world, rather than static visual blockers. Smoke can sway in the wind, shift under pressure, and be dispersed by explosions.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xv7-kuXC5Tw
That could have a fairly major impact on the rhythm of fights. Smoke has long been one of PUBG’s most important survival tools, especially for reviving teammates, crossing open ground, looting under pressure, or breaking line of sight during late-game circles. Once the new system arrives, players may need to think harder about where they throw it and what might disturb it.

It should also give attacking players more options. Rather than simply waiting out a smoke screen or firing blindly into it, teams may be able to use grenades or vehicles to open up visibility and force opponents to move. That sounds like exactly the kind of messy, tactical wrinkle PUBG still does better than most battle royale games when it is firing properly.

Interactive Smoke is currently listed for PC on June 17, with the console rollout following on June 25. It forms part of PUBG’s wider 2026 plans, which also include new tactical systems, changes to existing equipment, and more updates designed to deepen the game’s core firefights.

For a game that built its name on tense, scrappy, improvised survival, making even smoke grenades less predictable feels like a smart move. Also, frankly, a cruel one. But that is PUBG, isn’t it?
</dc:content>

K-pop Idol Stories: Road to Debut finally gets July release date

 <dc:content>
K-pop Idol Stories: Road to Debut now has a confirmed release date, with the idol management sim launching on July 16, 2026.

Published by PQube and developed by Wisageni Studio, K-pop Idol Stories: Road to Debut will put players in charge of creating the next big K-pop girl group. That means scouting talent, managing schedules, balancing budgets, choosing outfits, producing music, and trying very hard not to run your future stars into the ground before they have even made it on stage.

The game is coming digitally to PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam. Physical editions are also planned for PS5 and Nintendo Switch, which is nice for anyone who wants their shelf to look a little more glamorous than yet another line of grey military shooters.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mOpAcOIxbsg
In K-pop Idol Stories, players take on the role of a manager trying to guide a trainee group all the way to debut. You will choose from eight different trainees, each with their own personality and strengths, then shape the lineup into something that can survive the brutal world of pop stardom. Or, at the very least, survive your scheduling decisions.

That management side seems to be doing a lot of the heavy lifting. Players will need to balance vocal practice, dance training, rest, work, and finances, with poor planning potentially leading to burnout or money problems. Push the group too hard and they may fall apart. Go too soft and the whole operation could become a very sparkly financial disaster.

There is more to it than spreadsheets and stamina bars, though. K-pop Idol Stories also includes relationship-driven storylines, randomised events, rhythm-based minigames, and RPG-style battles against rival groups. The goal is not just to build a technically competent idol unit, but to manage the relationships and public-facing choices that shape the group’s story.

The game also features an original K-pop soundtrack, including vocal tracks produced for the game. Once your group is ready, you can pick its look, define its fan club identity, and put together a debut album that reflects the direction you have chosen.

It is an interesting pitch, particularly as idol games have often been more popular in mobile and visual novel spaces than on consoles. With K-pop now a global force, though, the timing makes sense. A management sim about turning trainees into superstars sounds like the sort of niche idea that could end up finding a very dedicated audience.

K-pop Idol Stories: Road to Debut launches on July 16, 2026, for PS5, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

</dc:content>

Stupid Never Dies gets Fall 2026 release window for PS5 and PC

 <dc:content>
GPTRACK50’s very silly-looking action RPG Stupid Never Dies is now due to launch in Fall 2026 for PlayStation 5 and PC via Steam, and yes, it really is called Stupid Never Dies. Frankly, points for committing to the bit.

The game stars Davy, a cowardly zombie who sits right at the bottom of monster society and suddenly finds himself with a purpose after discovering Julia, a frozen human girl he immediately falls in love with. Rather than doing the sensible undead thing and shuffling off into a corner, Davy decides he is going to bring her back to life and ask her out. Because apparently even the apocalypse cannot kill awkward dating energy.

The latest trailer gives a better look at Davy’s allies, enemies, and combat systems. The big hook is Style Eat, which lets Davy devour monsters and steal their abilities. Alongside his default Zombie Style, Davy can transform into 10 other monster forms, including Werewolf, Harpy, Golem, Vampire, Will-o’-the-Wisp, Cyclops, Snow Fairy, Merfolk, Lich, and Demon.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9JE7ETLFizc
Each Style changes how Davy fights, with some built around speed, ranged attacks, heavy hits, freezing enemies, commanding skeletons, or manipulating enemy positions. GPTRACK50 has previously said each Style comes with multiple possible skills, giving players room to experiment rather than simply swapping between fixed transformations.

On top of that is Body Hack, which allows Davy to modify parts of his undead body with weapons and equipment. The trailer shows examples such as sword-like arm upgrades and missile launchers, which can also be used while transformed into other creatures. It is exactly the kind of mechanic that sounds like it was written on a whiteboard after someone said, “What if zombies, but also modular weapons?” and nobody in the room had the sense to stop them.

There is also Davy Burst, a temporary power-up that boosts his abilities and gives the action a more chaotic, disco-like visual punch. GPTRACK50 describes the game as a “Blazing Fast Growth 3D Action RPG,” which is a lot of words, but the general idea is fast combat, monster stealing, and a very oddball sense of humour.

Stupid Never Dies is being developed and published by GPTRACK50, the studio led by former Capcom producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi, whose credits include Resident Evil, Devil May Cry, and Dragon’s Dogma. The studio has said the game is currently playable from start to finish and is in the polishing stage, with an estimated playtime of around 30 hours.

Stupid Never Dies is currently scheduled to release in Fall 2026 for PS5 and PC via Steam.
</dc:content>

Goddess of Victory: Nikke reveals tokusatsu-inspired Ark Ranger update

 <dc:content>
Goddess of Victory: Nikke is shifting into hero mode this week with the reveal of its new Ark Ranger update.

Level Infinite has confirmed that the next update for the sci-fi RPG shooter will launch on June 11, 2026 for PC, iOS, and Android. Inspired by classic tokusatsu-style heroes, the Ark Ranger update adds a new character, a hero-themed story event, and a new costume for Moran.

The headline addition is Ark Black, a new character tied directly to the update’s new storyline. The Ark Ranger event follows three NIKKE actresses, Black, Red, and Blue . who play heroes in one of the Ark’s most popular tokusatsu shows.

On the surface, it all sounds suitably bright and dramatic, with flashy battles, transformation sequences, and all the heroic posing you would expect from the genre. Behind the scenes, however, the story appears to be taking a darker turn.

According to Level Infinite, Black’s journey becomes personal as she is forced to confront trauma, loss, and the harsher reality behind what it actually means to be a hero. The event will explore whether the heroes people see on screen are truly heroic when the cameras stop rolling.

That is very Nikke, really. It might look like it is leaning into full Saturday morning hero show energy, but there is clearly a more emotional angle sitting underneath the masks and explosions.

The Ark Ranger update also adds a new costume for Moran, the leader of the Peony association. Moran is described as someone with an intimidating reputation, but the character is also known for being far softer than she appears. While she can project a fierce image when dealing with enemies, behind the scenes she is portrayed as vulnerable, awkward, and deeply loyal to her followers.

That contrast has become a key part of Moran’s appeal, with her subordinates treating her like family despite her fearsome underworld status.

Goddess of Victory: Nikke has now been downloaded more than 45 million times globally since launch, and continues to receive regular story updates, new characters, events, and collaborations. The Ark Ranger update is the latest in that line, and should be one for players who enjoy Nikke’s mix of glossy action, character drama, and increasingly elaborate event themes.

Goddess of Victory: Nikke Ark Ranger launches on June 11, 2026 for PC, iOS, and Android.
</dc:content>

PowerWash Simulator 2 Star Wars DLC lets you clean the Millennium Falcon this July

 <dc:content>
PowerWash Simulator 2 is getting Star Wars DLC next month, because even the Millennium Falcon needs a proper clean every now and then.

FuturLab has confirmed that the PowerWash Simulator 2 Star Wars Pack will launch on July 16, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. The DLC has been developed in collaboration with Lucasfilm Games and will cost $9.99 / €9.99 / £7.99 when it arrives.

The crossover takes players to a galaxy far, far away during the events of the original Star Wars trilogy. Rather than playing as a Jedi, smuggler, Rebel pilot, or anything quite so dramatic, players will take control of P0-W2, a new class five labour droid created specifically for the DLC.

Naturally, P0-W2 comes equipped with a custom power washer and Star Wars-themed cleaning gear, because there is no point defeating the Empire if the galaxy is still covered in muck.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z5r7WDIJUYQ
PowerWash Simulator 2 Star Wars Pack jobs confirmed

FuturLab has confirmed six playable jobs for the PowerWash Simulator 2 Star Wars Pack, covering some of the most recognisable locations and vehicles from the original trilogy.

The full job list is:
Lars’ HomesteadMos Eisley CantinaAT-ATSuper Star Destroyer BridgeX-Wing FighterThe Millennium Falcon
Each level is built around moments from the Star Wars films. Players will clear sand and debris from Lars’ Homestead while Luke Skywalker is still dreaming of leaving Tatooine, clean up the Mos Eisley Cantina after Han Solo’s encounter with Greedo, and deal with Blizzard 3 following the Empire’s victory on Hoth.

The DLC will also see players preparing Red 2 for the Rebel assault on the second Death Star, as well as helping Lando Calrissian restore the Millennium Falcon after the Battle of Endor.

It is a ridiculous idea, obviously, but that has always been part of PowerWash Simulator’s charm. The series has turned cleaning into one of the most oddly relaxing games around, and Star Wars gives FuturLab a huge box of familiar toys to cover in grime and then hand over to players with a hose.

The PowerWash Simulator 2 Star Wars Pack launches on July 16, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.
</dc:content>

The Nintendo Switch 2 version also includes GameShare support.

The update was revealed through a new video from Sabotage Creative Director Thierry Boulanger, with the studio positioning Sunset Edition as a final send-off for the game after years of development, updates, and DLC.

Sea of Stars first launched in 2023 and quickly became one of the standout indie RPGs of the year, eventually winning Best Indie at The Game Awards 2023. Since then, Sabotage says the game has been played by more than six million players around the world.

What is in the Sea of Stars Sunset Edition update?

The headline addition in Sea of Stars Sunset Edition is a brand-new cinematic opening, designed to better introduce the game’s story, characters, and world.

For returning players, the new opening also adds fresh context around Sea of Stars’ older heroes, including new scenes that look back at the cataclysm they endured. It sounds like a neat extra for anyone who has already finished the game, especially as it gives players a fresh reason to revisit the opening hours.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xWbM7YQJEqc
The update also includes new key art from artist Bryce Kho, along with revised balancing for both Normal and Hard modes. Sabotage has not positioned this as a total overhaul, but rather as a polishing pass for the final version of the game.

Sea of Stars is inspired by classic ‘90s turn-based RPGs and follows the Children of the Solstice as they combine the powers of the sun and moon to perform Eclipse Magic. That power is the only thing capable of stopping the Fleshmancer, making the game both a throwback and a modern reworking of the kind of RPG many players grew up with.

Sabotage moves on to Project Sparrow

Sunset Edition also marks the end of active development on Sea of Stars. According to Sabotage, the studio has now fully transitioned to its third game, currently known as Project Sparrow.

It brings to a close a long journey for Sea of Stars, which was developed over seven years and later expanded with two major updates to its main campaign, as well as a free multi-hour DLC adventure.

There is still one more physical treat on the way, though. A Sea of Stars Collector’s Edition is due to ship later this year in collaboration with iam8bit, giving fans one last boxed celebration of the game.

Sea of Stars takes place in the same universe as The Messenger, Sabotage Studio’s debut game. With Sunset Edition now available, the studio’s love letter to classic JRPGs has reached its final form.
</dc:content>

Battlefield 6 2026 roadmap brings back Wake Island and naval warfare

 <dc:content>
EA has revealed the 2026 roadmap for Battlefield 6, and it looks like the year ahead is going to lean heavily into the things players have been asking for since launch: bigger maps, returning classics, proper community tools, and the long-awaited return of naval warfare.

The headline act is the spread of new Battlefield 6 content across Seasons 3, 4, and 5, with Battlefield Studios also confirming updates for REDSEC, the game’s free-to-play battle royale experience.

Season 3 is where the comeback tour begins. EA says “legendary Battlefield maps” are returning, with Railway to Golmud and Cairo Bazaar both on the way. Railway to Golmud is being pitched as Battlefield 6’s largest map yet, while Cairo Bazaar is an updated take on Battlefield 3’s Grand Bazaar. Ranked Play is also set to launch during the season, alongside Solos for Battle Royale.

That alone should be enough to get a few lapsed Battlefield players paying attention again. For all the talk around new systems and live-service beats, Battlefield still lives and dies by its maps, and bringing back names like Golmud and Bazaar is an obvious attempt to tap into the series’ strongest memories.

Season 4 then takes things onto the water. Tsuru Reef and Wake Island are both coming as part of a wider push into land, air, and sea combat. According to EA, both maps will feature aircraft carriers with operational flight decks, new naval vehicles, and a dynamic wave system. Custom Lobbies and Spectator Mode are also planned for the same season.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f30YjQg4rn0
Wake Island returning is the big nostalgia hit here, but the naval warfare angle is arguably the more important part. Battlefield has always been at its best when a match feels like a chaotic military sandbox rather than a simple corridor shooter, and proper sea combat could help push Battlefield 6 closer to that feeling again.

Season 5 is being kept more mysterious for now, although EA has confirmed that three more maps are planned for the final season of 2026. The publisher is only teasing the setting at this stage, calling it a holiday surprise, so players will have to wait for the proper reveal.

Away from maps, EA is also promising a raft of quality-of-life improvements. A Server Browser with Persistent Servers, Multiplayer Leaderboards, Platoons, and Proximity Chat are all listed for 2026. Combat tuning, new weapons, soldier visibility improvements, matchmaking changes, and updates to challenges and progression are also on the list.

There are map reworks coming too, with New Sobek City and Blackwell Fields both due for improvements based on community feedback.

EA notes that the roadmap will continue to evolve through Battlefield Labs, its community testing programme for maps, modes, and other features. In other words, some details may shift as development continues, but the broad message is clear: Battlefield 6 is going bigger in 2026.

Whether that is enough to win back players who bounced off the early live-service offering remains to be seen, but on paper this is a much stronger pitch. Returning maps, naval warfare, a proper server browser, and persistent servers are exactly the kind of Battlefield-shaped features fans have been shouting about.

Now EA just has to deliver them properly.
</dc:content>

Xbox Game Pass – here’s what’s coming in June’s first wave of releases

 <dc:content>
Microsoft has revealed the first batch of games coming to Xbox Game Pass in June 2026, with Persona 5 Royal leading a varied wave of new additions.

The latest lineup begins on June 4 with Herdling and Total Chaos, both coming to Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Herdling is an atmospheric alpine adventure about guiding a herd of strange creatures up a dangerous mountain path, while Total Chaos brings a much darker tone as a first-person survival horror game from the creator of Turbo Overkill.

June 8 then adds two more games to the service. Solarpunk arrives day one on Xbox Game Pass for Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, offering a survival experience built around floating islands, crafting, farming, construction, and airship exploration. Boxing sim Undisputed also joins the library on the same day for Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, Handheld, and PC, giving subscribers access to one of the most detailed boxing games currently available.

The biggest name in this wave is Persona 5 Royal, which returns to Game Pass on June 9 across Cloud, Console, and PC. Atlus’ acclaimed RPG remains one of the most stylish turn-based games of the last decade, combining dungeon crawling, social links, Persona fusion, and a very long runtime. Anyone who missed it the first time around now has another chance to see why it is still so widely recommended.

June 11 is the busiest day of the first wave, with three more games joining Game Pass. Beastro comes to Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, Handheld, and PC, mixing cozy life sim elements with deckbuilding and puppet adventure mechanics. Frog Sqwad also arrives for Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, offering an eight-player co-op extraction puzzle-platformer about frogs causing chaos in the sewers.

Starseeker: Astroneer Expeditions also launches into Game Preview on June 11 for Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Set in the Astroneer universe, it focuses on co-op expeditions, discovery, and completing large-scale objectives across multiple star systems from the ESS Starseeker.

The final confirmed game in this first June wave is Junkster, which arrives on June 16 for Cloud, Xbox Series X|S, Handheld, and PC. It is a 3D action platformer starring a small construction robot trying to repair its ship after crash-landing on a junkyard planet.

As usual, several games are also leaving the service. Jurassic World Evolution 2, Lost in Random: The Eternal Die, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World, Warhammer 40K: Space Marine – Master Crafted Edition, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge will all leave Xbox Game Pass on June 15.

It is not the loudest Game Pass wave Xbox has ever announced, but between Persona 5 Royal, Undisputed, Solarpunk, and Starseeker, there should be enough here to keep subscribers busy before the next round of additions lands.
</dc:content>

Warframe’s Jade Shadows: Constellations update launches June 17 with Sirius & Orion and Styanax Prime

 <dc:content>
Developer Digital Extremes has confirmed that Warframe’s Jade Shadows: Constellations update will launch on June 17, 2026, bringing the new Sirius & Orion Warframe, Styanax Prime, new Railjack missions and a range of additional weapons, mods and quality-of-life changes.

The update was detailed in the studio’s Devstream 196 Overview, published on June 1. The main reveal was Sirius & Orion, a dual-character Warframe built around swapping between two forms during missions. Digital Extremes said the two characters occupy the space of one Warframe, with each form carrying its own set of abilities. The developer also noted that development is still ongoing, meaning details shown during the stream may change before release.

According to the overview, players will be able to switch between Sirius and Orion in missions, while the inactive form follows the player in a similar way to Wukong’s clone. Tapping an ability casts with the active form, while holding an ability swaps to the other form and casts that character’s version instead. Sirius’ abilities lean on Jade Light and Heat damage, while Orion’s include Slash damage, an Astral Shell and a black hole-style ability called Event Horizon.

Their fourth ability, Celestial Clash, uses Constellation Stars generated by casting abilities. During the ability, Sirius and Orion clash in the air and create shockwaves that damage enemies. Matching a star’s color to the correct Warframe increases damage and critical chance.

The update will also introduce Styanax Prime, who arrives with Afentis Prime, Athodai Prime, the Lanex Prime Syandana and Daurus Prime Armor. Pricing details are ye tto be disclosed.

Jade Shadows: Constellations will add new post-quest Railjack missions tied to Ryoku and Vena. Creative director Rebecca Ford described the missions as more story-driven and multiplayer-friendly than earlier Railjack content, with players piloting Ryoku or Vena’s Railjacks rather than their own.

Other additions listed for the update include Vectis and Stug Incarnon forms, two new Arcanes, four Warframe Augments, four Atragraph mods for Garuda and Ash Augments, new Operator and Drifter hairstyles, new Signas, FSR3 and DLSS 4 support, camera offsets, companion XP changes and other visual or gameplay adjustments.

Digital Extremes also confirmed that Mesa Heirloom will come to all platforms on July 11, 2026. The studio said the collection will also include a new Prex Card.
</dc:content>

The Witcher 3 is getting a new expansion called Songs of the Past

 <dc:content>
CD Projekt Red has officially announced The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Songs of the Past, a brand-new expansion for its 2015 RPG. Cripes.

The new content is set to launch in 2027 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with Geralt of Rivia returning for another adventure. CD Projekt Red is co-developing the expansion with Fool’s Theory, the Polish studio currently working on The Witcher Remake.

Songs of the Past will be the third major expansion for The Witcher 3, following Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine. That makes this a pretty significant return for one of the most acclaimed RPGs of the last decade, especially given that Blood and Wine launched all the way back in 2016.

For now, CD Projekt Red is keeping story details quiet. The announcement confirms that players will once again take on the role of Geralt, but there is no word yet on where the expansion is set, how large it will be, or whether any familiar characters beyond Geralt will appear.

The reveal appears to have arrived slightly earlier than planned. CD Projekt Red had been expected to discuss The Witcher 3 during an upcoming REDstreams broadcast, but the expansion was seemingly spotted ahead of time through the RED Launcher, leading to a speedy official announcement on Steam and social media.

The developer says more information on Songs of the Past will be shared later in summer 2026.

Fool’s Theory’s involvement is also notable. The studio has a direct connection to The Witcher series, both through its work on The Witcher Remake and because its team includes developers who previously worked on The Witcher 3. That should help ease some concerns about an external studio being involved in new content for such a beloved game.

CD Projekt Red is also currently working on The Witcher 4, which will put Ciri in the lead role. With Songs of the Past bringing Geralt back before then, Witcher fans now have two major returns to look forward to.
</dc:content>

Marvel Rivals bans hundreds of cheaters after weekend spike in nefarious nonsense

 <dc:content>
It's bin day for Marvbel Rivals, and NetEase has had a bit of a clearout, permanently banning 485 accounts and three devices after detecting a spike in cheating following its latest weekend update.

The bans were confirmed in a new “Zero Tolerance on Cheats” penalty announcement (shouldn't be a new policy, but what do I know?), with NetEase saying its telemetry spotted players using “third-party enhancements” after the May 21 update. By May 25, the publisher had moved to what it called an “immediate, targeted purge” of accounts found to be breaking the rules.

According to NetEase, the banned players were found to have used cheats, illicit assist programs, or client tampering. The publisher also said the signatures for the newly detected cheats have now been added to its automated penalty system, meaning anyone caught using the same tools in future should be banned immediately.

The enforcement wave does not appear to have only hit low-level throwaway accounts either. NetEase published a list of the affected accounts with personal information removed, showing players across a range of in-game ranks. Three players were also hit with permanent device bans, including one listed at One Above All rank.

NetEase also took aim at claims circulating online that Marvel Rivals’ anti-cheat can be bypassed using launch parameters. The publisher said those rumours are false, explaining that the anti-cheat launches alongside the game client and cannot be switched off separately. The parameter being shared online only hides a pop-up window, it said, rather than disabling the software.

Players who believe they have been wrongly punished can appeal through official customer support, although NetEase’s wording makes it pretty clear that it believes this particular ban wave is based on confirmed violations so, yeah good luck kids.
</dc:content>

Call of Duty 2026 is reportedly another Modern Warfare game from Infinity Ward

 <dc:content>
We’re still months away from the next big Call of Duty release cycle wrapping up, but the leaks machine has already moved onto 2026, and it sounds like Infinity Ward is learning to polish their rifle again, just like Private Pyle in Full Metal Jacket.

According to several well-known Call of Duty leakers, the 2026 game is set to continue the rebooted Modern Warfare series that started back in 2019. Nothing has been officially announced by Activision yet, but if the reports are accurate, this will effectively be Modern Warfare 4, even if that’s not the final name on the box.

Infinity Ward has been alternating with Treyarch and Sledgehammer for years now, and Modern Warfare remains the biggest sub-brand Call of Duty has. Activision tends to go where the money is, and Modern Warfare still pulls huge numbers despite the series catching plenty of criticism lately.

The current rumours suggest Infinity Ward is dialling things back a bit compared to the more arcade-style movement seen in recent Black Ops games. Some leaks claim the studio wants a more grounded feel again, although apparently there are still plans for near-future gadgets and tech rather than a completely realistic military shooter. And you can still probably shoot people dressed as Nicki Minaj.
https://twitter.com/InfinityWard/status/2057491681331626388
There’s also comms chatter that the game could still release on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. That might sound wild for a 2026 release, but Call of Duty has stuck with older hardware longer than most major franchises, mostly because the install base is still massive.

Another point doing the rounds is Game Pass. We know 2026 Call of Duty won’t launch day one on Microsoft’s subscription service, despite Xbox now owning Activision. That’ll probably disappoint some players who assumed every future COD would instantly hit Game Pass at launch, but hey, that was then, this is now..

At this stage, it’s all still unofficial, so take the details with the usual Call of Duty leak caution.

</dc:content>

Sony reportedly pulling back on PC ports for major PS5 games

 <dc:content>
Sony’s PC strategy might be changing again, and PC players probably aren’t going to like it much. You know when you wish people would just make their minds up and get on with the job at hand?

A new report suggests Sony is planning to scale back PC releases for some of its major single-player PlayStation games, potentially ending the steady flow of former PS5 exclusives landing on Steam a couple of years later.

According to Bloomberg sources cited by multiple outlets, Sony wants to place more focus back on the PS5 ecosystem itself, with upcoming games like Ghost of Yotei and Housemarque’s Saros reportedly among the titles that may stay console-exclusive rather than eventually making the jump to PC.
https://bsky.app/profile/jasonschreier.bsky.social/post/3mm5jzsls5s2a
That would be a pretty major shift after several years of Sony aggressively bringing its older exclusives to Steam. Games like God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Horizon Zero Dawn, Ghost of Tsushima and The Last of Us Part 1 all found huge audiences on PC, with some players simply waiting out the console launch knowing a port would probably appear later.

Former PlayStation executive Shuhei Yoshida even previously described the PC strategy as “printing money,” because Sony could effectively resell older games to a whole new audience years after launch.

Now though, it sounds like Sony may be worried the approach is hurting PS5 sales. If players believe every big exclusive is eventually coming to Steam anyway, there’s less pressure to actually buy the console.

With GTA 6 looming over the industry and expected to shift huge amounts of hardware, Sony reportedly wants to reinforce the idea that PlayStation is still the place you need to be for big blockbuster releases.

The reported change doesn’t appear to apply to multiplayer games or live-service projects. Sony still seems happy releasing online-focused titles across multiple platforms, especially after the company’s big live-service push over the last few years.

It’s also worth remembering that none of this has been officially confirmed by Sony yet, and plans can obviously change. But if the reports are accurate, PC players may need to get used to the idea that not every PlayStation hit is guaranteed to arrive on Steam anymore.

The thing is, the PlayStation 5 is a much tougher sell now since Sony recently jacked the price up. If it comes down to me, and I would expect many, having to choose between not playing the new Horizon game and spending around $800 on the hardware to do so, then I am going back to playing Subnautica 2.

For a while there, it genuinely felt like Sony had quietly stopped believing in the whole “exclusive” thing.
