Wondering how to install ComSpike and Conduction Grid in Starfield? For the most part, your ship’s customisation is down to you, but near the end of the Crimson Fleet faction questline, you’re going to have to make some mandatory changes. But with how complicated ship customisation is, it can be tough to figure out exactly how to do that. Luckily we’re here with the answers.
While we’re on the subject of ship modifications, check out the Starfield ship manufacturers, Starfield best ships, Starfield best ship parts, and Starfield best reactors to make sure you’ve got the best ship for exploration and combat. With that, let’s get into how to install the ComSpike and Conduction Grid modules onto your ship in Starfield.
How to install the ComSpike and Conduction Grid on your ship
To install the ComSpike, use the Ship Builder menu after talking to Jasmine Durand at The Key. The ComSpike module and Conduction Grid module you stole earlier on in the Crimson Fleet storyline will finally come into play with the Eye of the Storm mission.
It’s not too difficult to install these two modules, and the method is just like installing any other parts on your ship. Head to The Key, and talk to Jasmine Durand, Crimson Fleet engineer, in the Ship Service Room. Select the “Mind helping me with my ship?” dialogue option, and then select the option to view and modify your ships.
You can’t do this at the Ship Technicians at major spaceports like you would normally. Naturally, this is because of the fact that the modules you’re attaching are stolen and supposed to be top secret. So make sure to head to The Key rather than anywhere else.
Once the ship menu is open, select ‘Add’ by pressing B on PC or the X button on Xbox Series X/S, and then scroll over to the Equipment tab. Here, you’ll see the ComSpike and Conduction Grid modules which are free to place on your ship. Select them and drag them to one of the open circle slots on any part of your ship to install them. The modules will turn green when they’ve been installed correctly.
Once you exit the ship builder, you’ll have both the ComSpike and Conduction Grid fitted to your Starfield ship, and you can continue with your quest to find Kryx’s Legacy on Bannoc IV.
That’s it for how to install the ComSpike and Conduction Grid in Starfield. If you’re after some more quest help, check out our guides to the Alternating Currents, Operation Starseed, Sabotage, Delivering Devils, and Absolute Power quests.
