Marquinhos
Brazil centre-back Marquinhos will be well into his 30s in your fifth season. What makes him enticing to FIFA fans over the years has been his mobility, so we do worry that may have declined by the 2027/28 season. A shift into a holding midfield role could work, or if deployed alongside more mobile defender. One to keep an eye on though.
Reece James

A high potential makes James a sound investment at any stage of your career, but if you can sign him for free it’s a no-brainer! James possesses all the attributes to be a success in FC 24, no matter what meta we may see.

Real Madrid has assembled a team for the future, and Rodrygo is one of their talented youngsters. The Brazilian winger is another player with high potential, and could be one of the best around when your opportunity to snap him up comes along. He is worth adding to your shortlist from the get go, as this will alert you if another club makes a bid for him.
Cody Gakpo
Versatile Dutch forward Cody Gakpo is yet another young player with high potential on this list. Tall, quick, and powerful, Gakpo is sure to be a success in the Premier League. His attributes suggest he will be excellent in FC 24 too, so keep tabs on Gakpo throughout your career save.
