EA FC 24 Best Young CDM – Top 10 under-23 defensive midfielders ranked

It wasn’t always easy to bring in a top CDM to your club, but there are plenty of options in FC 24 Career Mode. A new crop of talent is coming through as the position has begun playing a more pivotal role than ever before. 

We are classing the best young players as anyone who is 23 years old or younger at the start of your FC 24 Career Mode save and are including anyone with a base position of CDM. 

Sandro Tonali – 86 Overall 

Newcastle United has brought in a class act with Italian Sandro Tonali. He has top physicality to back up his defensive capabilities, which have helped him settle into the Premier League with ease. The Magpies’ midfield definitely needed some reinforcement, and Tonali is one of the best they could have got. 

Aurelien Tchouameni – 84 Overall 

We had gotten so used to the Casemiro, Kroos, and Modric midfield at Real Madrid, but all good things come to an end. A new dynasty is being built, with Aurelien Tchouameni first choice in the CDM role. Like most players on the list, he is very physically adept, with great composure on the ball to find key passes. 

Eduardo Camavinga – 82 Overall 

Staying with Real Madrid, we also have another Frenchman in Eduardo Camavinga. A very versatile player, Camavinga was used regularly at LB last season. EA predicts he has the same 89 potential as Tchouameni, so the two can make an awesome partnership in FC 24 Career Mode. 

Manuel Ugarte – 81 Overall 

PSG’s big-money signing this summer, Manuel Ugarte has switched from Sporting CP for the French capital. The PSG midfield has been a weak point in the side for many seasons, with the Uruguayan expected to give it some more bite. 

Moises Caicedo – 80 Overall 

Multiple clubs were circling for Birghton’s Moises Caicedo over the summer, with Chelsea eventually getting the Ecuadorian. His 85 potential rating in FC 24 may not live up to his £100 million price tag, but there is no doubt this guy has talent and will be among the best playing at CDM in the future.
