Best Young Left Backs (LB) in FC 24 Career Mode

Wing-backs have become an essential part of the game in recent years, it isn’t just about defending anymore, having top standing tackle and slide tackling ability doesn’t cut it these days. Up-and-coming talents need great dribbling and stamina too, with a high work rate to get up and down the flank, operating basically as wingers at times.

We’re also seeing full-backs being told to operate inside more, taking up the position of a CM. This means top ball control, dribbling, and passing capabilities are often needed too! Investing in young players in EA FC 24 Career Mode is a great way to build your team over time, and also make some profit! Buy a promising player at the right time and you can get them cheap, but wait too long and you will see their price rise quickly.  

We are classing the best young players as anyone who is 23 years old or younger at the start of your FC 24 Career Mode save and are including anyone who has a base position of LB or LWB. 

Alphonso Davies – 83 Overall

Alphonso Davies is still the best young left-back around, a favourite in Career Mode and Ultimate Team alike. He is already one of the top players in his position and will grow into a world-class player. The Canadian is one of the fastest players in FC 24, a quality that makes him much sought after. 

Nuno Mendes – 82 Overall

PSG’s Nuno Mendes is progressing nicely and also has the potential to become one of the best LBs in the game. He doesn’t lack pace and is equally good at going forward as he is helping out the defence. The Rapid and Quick Step PlayStyles give him an extra burst of pace going both ways too!

Alejandro Balde – 81 Overall 

One of FC Barcelona’s young Spanish academy players, Alejandro Balde was given plenty of game time from Xavi last campaign. With Jordi Alba departing the club, the left-back spot is solely his, so you will need to part with more money than his market value if you want to bring this wonderkid to your side! 

Destiny Udogie – 80 Overall 

Italian Destiny Udogie has cemented himself as Tottenham Hotspur’s first-choice LB this season. He has improved defensively and matches that with great physicality. The youngster isn’t the most technical player around, but if you are after someone to get up and down the wing to whip crosses in and be solid at the back, he will be a top signing.

Fran Garcia – 78 Overall

Real Madrid managed to sign Fran Garcia on the cheap by triggering his buy-back clause and bringing him back to the club. He should get a decent amount of game-time due to first-choice Ferland Mendy’s regular injury issues! Garcia will need to improve his defending to get to the next level, although he does have top acceleration, sprint speed, agility, and balance already, so you can focus on his technical abilities on the training ground.
