Erling Haaland

The ultimate goal machine. Unsurprisingly, Man City have tied Erling Haaland down to a fairly long contract. It will be at least the fourth season by the time his contract begins to run out, and that’s if he hasn’t signed an extension or been snapped up by someone else. Regardless, Haaland will be one of the best in the game and worth every penny you spend on him.

Alisson

Loads of goalkeepers should be available for free as contract expiry 2026 signings, but if you missed out, then Liverpool’s Alisson could be available in 2027. The Brazilian will be one of the top five goalkeepers in FC 24. He’s not particularly old either, so he should still have a few years left at the top of the game when your chance to sign him arises.

Ruben Dias

Another City player on the list. Portugal centre-back Ruben Dias will be one of, if not the best centre-back in FC 24. Dias will be approaching 30 in the fourth season of your Manager Career save. Rodri

Man City need to get their contracts in order! If they aren’t careful, they could lose three of the best players in the world for free in 2026/27. Spanish midfield master Rodri dictates the play from a deep midfield role, while also expertly shielding the back four. Rodri has not always been a ‘meta’ FIFA player, so we await to see the gameplay style in FC before casting our verdict.

Federico Valverde

If you want meta, Federico Valverde is likely to be your guy. Pace has been such a key factor for many years in the FIFA franchise, and if it remains the priority, Valverde will be the top midfield target. Technically brilliant and with an incredible engine, Valverde’s athleticism and potential make him a standout target in Career Mode.
