If you want to get Casting Sand, you will need to head to Sultani Island off the Coast of Africa. This is one of the larger outer islands. This refined material is only found in a few places around this area.

Once you reach the Coast of Africa, start looking for trade routes with refined materials. These will sometimes have Casting Sand. You can also get the material from medium shipwrecks and merchants in the area. Merchants will sell sand for around 350 Silver and will often have a limit of one per customer.

Best way to farm Casting Sand – Optimal farming route

Farming sand is another story. We have found that the best route to take starts at the shipwreck near the northeast of Sultani Island. From there, follow the path provided in the image. Head to the smaller outer island off the coast before heading south down the eastern coast of Sultani Island. Remember, you will need Crowbar II to open these wrecks.

There are six shipwrecks going down the eastern coast of the island that will get you between 6 and 10 sand. Luckily, you don’t need much of the material to make items like guns and ships so you should be set for a bit after running this route. On the way, back to a fast travel point, hit some ships to get some extra sand.

The trading routes around the Coast of Africa are great for obtaining refined materials. You can also get items like Cobalt, Fine Linen, and Mopane Planks by destroying ships in the area.
