Destiny 2 Solstice challenges – all event cards and how to complete them

The Destiny 2 Solstice challenges are your gateway to completing this year’s summertime solstice event, via event cards.

With the Destiny 2 Solstice now upon us, we felt it prudent to create a guide covering all of the Destiny 2 solstice event card challenges. If you’re looking to earn the title and upgrade your armour, you’ll want to make sure you’re completing these challenges while the event lasts. Here then is a breakdown of each of them, and how they work.

There are 19 different challenges to complete on the event card, and they range widely in their objectives. You’ll be travelling all across the system if you want to complete them all. Here are all of the Destiny 2 Solstice challenges for 2023:

Bashing Success

For this challenge, you just need to complete a Bonfire Bash activity. This is the main event activity, and can be accessed from The Tower by clicking on the orange indicator and hitting “Launch”. The event sees you fight off waves of enemies and loot Ignition balls off of powerful foes to stoke a bonfire in the centre of the map. This goes on until it’s time for a showdown with a Taken boss.

Completing this challenge awards 1 Kindling, and 1 Event Ticket – which you can redeem for event-related cosmetics and emotes.

Good Ignite

The second challenge wants you to defeat 15 Ignition Carriers. Ignition Carriers are the powerful foes in Bonfire Bash – marked by orange healthbars. They’re the ones who drop the three igniters when defeated.

Finishing this challenge will give you 1 Kindling and 1 Event Ticket.

Torch The Taken

To beat this challenge, you need to defeat 15 Prismatic Taken. Prismatic Taken are powerful taken foes that will spawn in during the Taken interruptions in Bonfire Bash. When these interruptions occur, you and your fireteam will need to destroy Taken blights and defeat powerful Taken enemies to stop them sapping the bonfire of its heat, and to continue the event. Kill 15 of these powerful Taken to finish this challenge.

On finishing this challenge, you’ll get 1 Kindling and 1 Event Ticket.

Ash Tray

This challenge wants you to collect a total of 350 Silver Ash. Silver Ash is obtained by completing Bonfire Bash activities with Silver Leaves in your inventory. To get Silver Leaves, complete any playlist activity while wearing Solstice armour. A single Silver Leaf will convert into 3 Silver Ash if you’re wearing all of your Solstice armour in the Bonfire Bash.

Upon completing this challenge, you’ll get 1 Kindling, 1 Event Ticket, and 1 Upgrade module.

Fuel For The Fire

On this challenge, you’ll need to stoke the flames 35 times. To stoke the flames, pick up an igniter, and throw it into the bonfire at the centre of the Bonfire Bash event. The cores have limited tracking , so you can throw them from a distance.

This challenge will reward 1 Kindling and 1 Event Ticket.

Fuel For The Fire 2

Fuel for the Fire 2 is a continuation of the original challenge by the same name. This time, it wants you to stoke the flames a total of 70 times. Progress towards the first Fuel For The Fire challenge will still count towards this one though, as it starts off unlocked just like all the other challenges.

Finishing this event card challenge will give you 2 Kindling, 1 Event Ticket, and this year’s Solstice event banner.

Fuel For The Fire 3

Just like the last two, this challenge wants you to throw ignition cores into the bonfire to stoke the flames. For this third and final iteration, you need to throw 100 total igniters into the flames.

Doing this will get you 2 Kindling, 1 Event Ticket, and the exotic jumpship Ephemeral Spark.

Like Wildfire

This challenge is pretty simple. It asks you to defeat opponents anywhere in the system. This is a percentage bar that you need to progress, and of course defeating powerful foes or guardians will give extra progress.

On completion, you’ll be able to take 1 Kindling and 1 Event Ticket from this challenge.

Superlative

All you need to do for this challenge is defeat opponents with super abilities until you fill up the progress bar.

You’ll get 1 Kindling, 1 Event Ticket, and 1 Upgrade Module on completion.

Forged In Flame

For this challenge, you need to defeat 10 opposing Guardians in any activity. This can include gambit or crucible.

You’ll get 1 Kindling and 1 Event Ticket when you complete it.

Hand Lighter

This one requires you to defeat opponents with hand cannons, shotguns and rocket launchers. These are also the three types of weapon you can earn from this year’s Solstice event, though you’re not limited to using them specifically. Any weapon from the Conditional Finality shotgun to the Sins of The Past rocket launcher to the Epochal Integration hand cannon will count as progress.

When you finish this challenge, it’ll give you 2 Kindling, 1 Event Ticket, and 1 Enhancement Core.

Burn Them Down

If you want to finish this challenge, you need to defeat a total of 40 bosses anywhere in the system. This can be from any and all events or activities, including:

• Raids
• Dungeons
• Vanguard Strikes
• Nightfalls
• Gambit
• Lost Sectors
• Public Events
• Campaign missions

Finishing this challenge will earn you 2 Kindling, 1 Event Ticket, and 1 Enhancement Prism.

Raking The Coals

To do this challenge, you need to earn Silver Leaves through playlist activities, such as crucible, gambit, and Vanguard operations. The more Solstice armour you wear during the activities, the more Silver Leaves you’ll earn upon completion.

At the end of this challenge, you’ll be given 1 Kindling, 1 Event Ticket, and some Glimmer.

Dare To Dream

This challenge wants you to earn Silver Leaves specifically through runs of either the Blind Well event in the Dreaming City or Dares of Eternity completions.

You’ll get 1 Kindling, 1 Event Ticket and 1 Upgrade Module upon completion.

Brightfall

In order to finish this challenge, you need to earn Silver Leaves specifically by completing Vanguard operations, including Nightfall Strikes.

It’ll give you 1 Kindling, 1 Event Ticket, and 1 Enhancement core upon finish.

Fires Of Competition

To complete this challenge, you need to earn Silver Leaves through completing a total of 10 Crucible and/or Gambit matches. Both contribute towards that 10 total. Again, you’ll make the most Silver Leaves if you have more Solstice armor on.

Finishing this one gives you 1 Kindling, 1 Event Ticket, and some Glimmer.

A Spark In The Dark

If you want to finish this challenge, you need to earn Silver Leaves by finishing Alters of Sorrow stages on the Moon, or Salvage operations launched from the H.E.L.M.

When you’re done, you’ll get 2 Kindling, 1 Event Ticket, and 3 Raid Banners.

In The Hot Seat

For this penultimate challenge, you need to earn Silver Leaves by finishing activities on Neptune. This can include the Terminal Overload public event, the weekly Partition missions, lost sectors, and Lightfall campaign missions.

At the end you’ll get 2 Kindling, 1 Event Ticket, and 1 Enhancement Prism.

Flamekeeper

To finish the final challenge, you need to earn the event title, unlocked by completing the seal of the same name: Flamekeeper. It’s a pretty easy title to unlock, and we’ve broken down the steps you need to get it in our Destiny 2 Solstice 2023 guide, which covers everything you need to know about this year’s event.

Finishing this last challenge will give you 1 Ascendant Shard and 1 Ascendant Alloy.
