The Bungie Day fishing derby has been announced. In their most recent This Week At Bungie (TWAB) blog post, Bungie unveiled plans for a fishing competition in Destiny 2, in celebration of the Studio’s anniversary.
We’ll go over everything you need to know about the Bungie day fishing derby, including what it is, when it’s happening, and what you can win. If you haven’t tried out the activity in-game already and still need to learn how to fish in Destiny 2, don’t panic, we’ve got you covered.
What is the Bungie Day fishing derby?
The Bungie Day fishing derby is a Destiny 2 in-game fishing competition, celebrating the anniversary of Bungie Studios. Across the day Guardians will be able to compete in one or several of the five derbies to catch the most fish. Players who earn the highest scores will win unique in-game rewards.
To earn the most points, players will want to catch rare fish. The rarer the catch, the more points they’ll earn for it. The points for different catches are distributed in the following way:
- Junk – 0 points
- Uncommon – 1 point
- Rare – 2 points
- Legendary – 5 points
- Exotic – 20 points
There’s also a temporary boost to exotic fish catch chances thanks to the Lucky Perk that went live at this week’s weekly reset.
Bungie Day fishing derby start times
The fishing derbies will begin on July 7, 2023. Here are the start times for all of the Bungie day fishing derbies:
