There are all sorts of different passes you can throw in Madden 24, and throwing the right one is important. For example, you don’t want to throw a bullet pass if your receiver is deep down the field with a step on the defender. That will allow the defensive back to make a play on the ball. Touch passes can be useful, and you need to know how to throw one. Here’s what to do.

Madden 24’s passing controls allow you to throw all types of passes, and they’re all tied to the same button. Each button on offense has a receiver designated to it. For example, if you’re playing as the Kansas City Chiefs, Travis Kelce may be the B button on Xbox and Rashee Rice may be the X button.

Whoever you want to throw to, the way you press their button matters tremendously. For a touch pass, you want to push the receiver’s button with medium strength, according to the Madden NFL in-game description.

If you tap the button, you’ll throw a lob pass. If you hold it, you will throw a bullet pass. Touch passes can be used to drop the ball just over the head of a defender or just beneath their hands to make the perfect completion.

When the receiver’s button icon is filled, they’re open. Depending on how open and where they are on the field, a touch pass may be needed. You can also do a high pass or low when trying a touch. A high pass requires you to hold the L1 button on PlayStation or the LB button on Xbox while throwing the touch. For a low pass, substitute the L2 button on PS and the LT button on Xbox.

You can also try a pump fake and control the placement, power (either half power or full power), and more with the different pass types. That is all you need to know for throwing a touch pass, though. Be sure to check out how to showboat, all the game modes, and the All Madden Ultimate Team program.
