Quarterbacks are arguably the most important position in all of sports. An NFL team’s performance hinges the most on their quarterback, so it is vital to have one of the above. They can be good at throw power, throw accuracy, mobility, or any other category of the game, but they have to be good.
In Madden 23, Tom Brady was the best quarterback at launch with a 97 overall rating. The legendary, seven-time Super Bowl Champion is now retired however. He also did not have the year anyone expected, which left that number one spot for none other than Patrick Mahomes, who was the final member selected for the Madden 24 99 Club. Furthermore, five quarterbacks from Madden 23 had 90+ overall ratings. But in Madden 24, that number dropped to four but has added a fifth with Justin Herbert’s ascention.

Patrick Mahomes is the best quarterback in the NFL. He’s been that way almost since he started playing for the Kansas City Chiefs. Name a throw, he can make it. The Chiefs continuously lose talented wide receivers, and he doesn’t miss a beat. He won MVP after the team traded away current 99 overall Tyreek Hill.
Josh Allen Madden 24 rating – 94 overall
The Madden 24 cover athlete, Bills QB Josh Allen had every chance of a massive rating this year. He began the year rather inauspiciously, leading some to believe that he might not be as good as they thought. He quickly turned it around and has been in good form. His overall rating hasn’t gone up, but it hasn’t gone down, either. That’s more than some QBs can say in the latest title from EA Sports.
Jalen Hurts Madden 24 rating – 88 overall
It was a bit of a surprise to see Jalen Hurts on the outside looking in at the 90+ club for the Madden 24 QB ratings this year. He was the MVP runner up and didn’t lose a start last year. He has yet to lose a start this year, though the Eagles haven’t exactly rounded into form. When they do, expect the young quarterback to easily reach that club.
Aaron Rodgers Madden 24 rating – 85 overall
Aaron Rodgers is a four-time MVP, winning most recently in 2020 and 2021. Last season, he was pretty mediocre for the Green Bay Packers. He had talent, but the entire offense was bad. Upon his trade to the New York Jets, many expected much better play from Rodgers. However, his injury on the fourth play of the season prevented that, and it keeps his Madden 24 rating where it is. He is currently an 85 and unless he miraculously returns this year and plays spectacularly, it will remain that way.
C.J. Stroud Madden 24 Rating – 77 overall
C.J. Stroud is making it seem as if he should have been the first overall pick. The second pick and the Houston Texans starter is off to an absolutely blazing start. He’s impressing everyone. He wasn’t even the highest rookie quarterback rated at the beginning of the year, but now he’s just into the top 20 for the entire position. Impressive run he’s on.
