EA Sports have returned with yet another American football offering, as the full release of Madden 24 has landed worldwide. And whilst there is nothing better than a 100m punt return, it isn’t always the smartest decision, especially if your kick return is being hunted by the chasing pack.

How to call for a fair catch in Madden 24

For those who aren’t aware, a fair catch can be called by the returner by waving their hands in the air prior to catching the football. As a result, the defensive unit is unable to tackle the returner, and the ball is called dead at the spot of the catch.

In order to call a fair catch in Madden 24, you need to ensure that are in direct control of the player who is set to catch the ball, if you are in control of any other member of the returning team, you won’t be able to call for a fair catch.

Once you have selected the correct player, you need to hold down triangle if you are on PlayStation, or Y if you are on Xbox. This will then result in the returning player signalling for a fair catch.

Then simply place your player in the correct spot to make the catch, and the play will be registered dead.

That is everything you need to know about how to signal for a fair catch in Madden 24.
