Over the course of the 2022 NFL season, several linebackers rose to the occasion and produced some big performances. But none shined brighter then 49ers star man Fred Warner, who is the best LB this year with a 96 overall. Madden 24 is home to only four 90+ overall rated players, just as was the case in Madden 23.

Here’s five of the Top 20 LBs to go along with some expert analysis on why we think each deserves to be on the Best Linebackers list in Madden 24.

Fred Warner – 96 overall

Since setting foot into the league in 2018, Fred Warner has come away with over 115 combined tackles in each of his five seasons. The 26-year-old middle linebacker is entering his prime, and put that forth for everyone to see over the 2022 season. In 17 games played, Warner had 130 combined tackles, 10 passes defended, two sacks, one forced fumble, and one interception as well. The man simply does it all. And as a result of his big performance over the 2022 season, was named First Team All-Pro and was selected to his second Pro Bowl.

Lavonte David – 91 overall

Although David did not make the Pro Bowl or any of the All-Pro teams last season, the 11-year veteran has been a cornerstone player for the Buccaneers defense since they drafted him in 2012. And at 33-years-old, David still had himself a great season that is very fitting of a 91 overall rating. In 17 games played, David had 124 combined tackles, five passes defended, three sacks, and a forced fumble and fumble recovery. David continues to set the bar for himself, and after performing as well as he did, will be one of the best linebackers to use in Madden 24.

Demario Davis – 90 overall

Despite the New Orleans Saints enduring quite the rocky transitionary rebuild following the departure of quarterback Drew Brees, they still have some of the finest talent in the league, and particularly on the defensive side of the ball. And leading the charge on defense from the linebacker unit, is that of the one and only Demario Davis. Even at the age of 34, Davis’ career has faired like a fine wine, only improving with each season he plays. Following his First Team All-Pro selection in 2019, Davis has made Second Team All-Pro each season since and was named to his very first Pro Bowl last season as well. Don’t sleep on Davis folks because yes, he’s that good and that versatile.

Bobby Wagner – 89 overall

Talk about another legendary veteran that is back with the Seattle Seahawks, Wagner is easily one of the best linebackers to play with in Madden 24, and to some, it might come to a bit of a surprise that he didn’t crack the 90 overall threshold. After being named to the Pro Bowl for eight straight seasons, the 2022 campaign marked the first time Wagner didn’t make it since 2013. In 17 games played in his sole season for the Rams, Wagner finished with 140 combined tackles, six sacks, five passes defended, and two interceptions. Even at 33-years-old, Wagner still is one of the best in the league and could very well make it back to Pro Bowl in 2023.

Nick Bolton – 87 overall

The Chiefs defense has evolved into quite the force. And a player that has risen the ranks as one of the best in the group, is that of second-year youngster, Nick Bolton. At 23-years-old, Bolton had himself a breakout season in 2022. In 17 games played, Bolton had 180 combined tackles (second in the NFL), three passes defended, two interceptions, two sacks, and one forced fumble. Despite not making it to the Pro Bowl or being chosen to any of the All-Pro Teams, Bolton did play a very important role in helping the Chiefs secure their second Super Bowl in four years. And it comes to no surprise that he’s an 87 overall in Madden 24.
