The best teams to rebuild in Madden 24 Franchise mode often have a few key aspects. Some teams are much easier to build into a contender than others, and that is just as true in the NFL as it is in Madden 24. Thus, some teams have an easier road to success, and you can get right in on that.

With so much to unpack in the new game, including the Madden 24 Ratings and the Season 3 dates, fans are starting to sink into their favorite modes, including Franchise. Before you start your journey, it’s important to know what teams are best to play with. Rebuilding a team, especially if it’s your team that is fumbling the ball in real life, is one of the most fun things you can do.

What is the best team to rebuild in Madden 24?

This guide is for those that don’t plan on using the Fantasy Draft setting and intend to use the current team rosters each franchise has in Madden 24.

Here’s our Top 5 best teams to rebuild in Madden 24:

TeamRating
Arizona Cardinals73 OVR
Atlanta Falcons82 OVR
Carolina Panthers78 OVR
Chicago Bears75 OVR
Houston Texans79 OVR

There are a lot of teams to pick from when deciding which to rebuild. But for our Top 5 list, we were looking for a balance between having some good players while still offering plenty to do on the rebuilding front. It makes sense to have some talent on a rebuilding team. After all, there have to be pieces to build around. The above teams either have a few good pieces, or they have a lot of draft picks/salary cap to rebuild with.

Franchise Mode offers so much when it comes to growing out your team and drafting young talent. And all the teams above come with plenty of areas to patch and improve, providing you with just the right balance you’re after while allowing you to still have fun when playing the game.

Zach’s Tips

Always look for teams with young quarterbacks to rebuild. They have the most potential and can easily grow from whatever they are to a mid 80 or 90 OVR in just a few short seasons. Whether it’s a rookie like C.J. Stroud or someone young like Justin Herbert, youth is key here. If a team needs to be rebuilt but doesn’t have a young QB (like the Saints with Derek Carr), it’s a lot harder.

Here’s a look at our Top 5 selection and why we have them on this list.

Cardinals – 73 overall

The Arizona Cardinals may not be good now, but their future is bright. They have established weapons on the offensive side of the ball thanks to Marquise Brown and James Conner. Budda Baker is a dynamic player on defense. They are also the rare team competing for the first overall pick that already has an established QB in Kyler Murray. They have picks to play with after trading down with the Houston Texans in last year’s draft, too. They are set up to be a very good team in the near future, and you can easily achieve this goal in Madden 24.

Falcons – 82 overall

If you want to play with a team that’s absolutely filled with young talent, the Falcons are just for you. From rookie running back Bijan Robinson to WR Drake London to tight end Kyle Pitts to cornerback A.J. Terrell, the Falcons have young playmakers all over that can definitely be the cornerstones you need in order to lead them to success.

You’ll have to decide for yourself if Desmond Ridder is the QB of the future there. If he is, you can develop him with XP and dedicated playstyle. If not, you can look to next year’s draft class that is very strong for quarterbacks. You can set this with a Madden community file and have players like Drake Maye, Caleb Williams, and more available to take over for Ridder.

Panthers – 78 overall

The Panthers are struggling mightily in the regular season, but their Madden future can be very bright. They have a cornerstone in Bryce Young as a rookie quarterback. They have a few stars around him like Brian Burns, Jaycee Horn, and Ikem Ekwonu. Adding more pieces will be more challenging since they don’t even have their first round pick for 2024, but the foundation is there for you to build on. There are also veteran pieces you could trade for more assets. I chose to play as them, and I quickly morphed them into a Super Bowl contender in three seasons.

Bears – 75 overall

The Bears could be the best team to play with in Madden 24. Justin Fields is developing into a star at the quarterback position. Wide receiver DJ Moore is as talented as they come, and Khalil Herbert is a very solid running back. They also have a few decent players on defense. What makes the Bears so enticing is that they have the rare combination of good building blocks, salary cap, and draft picks.

Thanks to the Panthers’ trade, they have two first round picks next year, and the Panthers pick could be very high. The Bears could pick twice in the top five, giving them the ammunition to really load up on star power. They also, unlike other teams, have plenty of cap space to sign star free agents with. The future is incredibly bright.

Texans – 79 overall

The Texans began the season as a 73 overall, so Madden is clearly recognizing the talent on their squad. CJ Stroud looks like the best rookie quarterback, and he’s on a talented offense next to Dameon Pierce, Nico Collins, and Tank Dell. This team is on the comeup now, so you could easily get them to a contending level. They have draft picks to use thanks to the Deshaun Watson trade with the Cleveland Browns, so there’s plenty of reason to be optimistic for their future. Why not make it the reality in Madden NFL 24?

Other great teams to try and rebuild include:

  • Tampa Bay Buccaneers
  • Seattle Seahawks
  • Denver Broncos
  • Tennessee Titans
  • Green Bay Packers
  • Pittsburgh Steelers
  • Indianapolis Colts
  • Las Vegas Raiders

Other teams like the Miami Dolphins, Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs, Cincinnati Bengals, and Philadelphia Eagles are not really in need of a rebuild, but you can still control them right now.

What makes a team good for a rebuild in Madden 24?

One thing has to be true in order for a team to be worthy of a rebuild in Madden 24: They cannot be a good team now. Teams like the New York Jets, Los Angeles Rams, Los Angeles Chargers, and more are good, so they don’t need a rebuild.

Further things that make a team worth rebuilding is their future. Is the future bright? You can rebuild them. Is it dark? You can aim to change that and rebuild them. The latter is a bigger challenge, of course.

The age of players is another key contributor here. The team with rookie Anthony Richardson is much easier to rebuild than the one with Russell Wilson or Aaron Rodgers. That’s all for rebuilding teams, but be sure to check out who the best young players are, what the best build is, and the best playbooks to use.
