From the ever-cunning Team Rocket to the enigmatic Team Plasma, every Pokémon iteration has had a villainous gang standing in the Protagonist’s path to becoming Champion. As such, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is no stranger to it and has Team Star, a group of kids from Naranja Academy going through their rebellious phase.
There will be three story paths to beat in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, one of which is Starfall Street. This is where you’ll take on Team Star. Team Star has different bases scattered in Paldea, with a Crew Leader operating it. However, aimlessly barging in will likely prove painful.
To help you out, we’ve put together a comprehensive guide so you can easily overpower and beat Team Star in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

How Does Team Star Bases Work
There are five Team Star Crews, each with their own distinct Base in Paldea, and you’ll come across the same set pattern for each Base before taking on the Crew Leader. That said, before every entrance to a Team Star Base, you’ll find a Grunt guarding it, whom you’ll have to face in battle.
After gaining entrance to a base, things get interesting with the Star Barrage. Instead of battling Team Star Grunts, you’ll have to pick three Pokémon from your party, send them out in Let’s Go mode, and have them fight 30 Grunt Pokémon inside the Base on their own within a ten-minute timer. Once done, you’ll be worthy of an audience with that Crew’s Leader.

During every Star Barrage, Clive is there to assist if you need to revive any of the three Pokémon that have fainted. Moreover, you’ll also find Vending Machines in every Team Star base, selling drinks to freshen up your Pokémon.
Another interesting gimmick to every Crew Leader is their Starmobile, a Revavroom boss battle. Although this boss battle looks intimidating, like any other Pokémon battle, if you’re aware of a Crews typing, these fights can be cakewalked. That said, to effectively overthrow Team Star, you’ll have to use highly effective Pokémon against a Crew’s typing.

What order to battle Team Star Bosses?
Based on their levels, you should battle the team star bosses in the following order –
- Giacomo – Team Star Dark Leader
- Mela – Team Star Fire Leader
- Atticus Team Star Poison Leader
- Ortega Team Star Fairy Leader
- Eri Team Star Fighting Leader
How To Beat Them Team Star Crews
Now that you’ve been through the basic gimmicks of Team Star, it’s time to face them. However, there’s more to it than meets the eye, as each Team Star base has different difficulty levels. You’ll have to follow a specific order, and it’s always wise to start from the weakest and then make your way to the top.
We’ve mentioned every Team Star Crew in the best possible order and explained how you can easily beat them below :
1. Team Star Dark – Segin Squad
The easiest of them all is the Dark Crew. The Dark Crew’s Base can be found south of Cascarrafa City in the West Province (Area one). That said, this is the first Team Star base you should tackle, and we recommend having at least level 21 Pokémon in your party. Since this Crew’s typing is Dark, the most effective typing you can bring with you are Bug, Fairy, and Fighting.
Segin Squad Grunt
You’ll start off by facing a Female Grunt right at the entrance. She has a Level 19 Murkrow in her team, which you can wipe out quickly with a one-shot if your first slot Pokémon is either of the mentioned weaknesses. Once you beat her, she’ll hand over 988 prize money and entry to the Base.
Team Star Dark – Star Barrage
Now, it’s time to pick three Pokémon and defeat 30 Grunt Pokémon within 10 minutes. If you pick this Crew’s counter typings, this section will feel like a breeze; otherwise, you’ll find yourself struggling to clear it. Another thing, make sure to fully heal your three picks before sending them out. That said, you’ll find all these Dark Types on the Base’s grounds:
- Murkrow
- Pawniard
- SneaselStunky
- Zorua
- Sableye
- Nymble
Any Pokémon like Maril, Pawmo, or Tinkatink will do against the mentioned Dark Pokémon. Once you’ve amassed 30 wins, the Crew’s Leader will appear.

How To Beat Giacomo Team Star Dark Leader
Giacomo has 2 Pokémon on him, a level 21 Pawniard and a level 20 Revavroom (Segin Starmobile). Since Pawniard is a dual Dark/Steel Pokémon, Fairy types will have a hard time against it because of its Steel nature. That said, if you’ve picked Crocalor as your Starter, it can quickly blast through Pawniard’s defense.
With Pawniard out of the way, the Segin Starmobile boss fight begins. While Revavroom is a dual-type Steel/Poison Pokémon, the Segin Starmobile shares the same weakness as Pawniard. Thus, you’ve got a bunch of options against the Segin Starmobile. Some noteworthy ones are Crocalor and Pawmo, which will be more than enough for the boss battle.
Rewards For Beating Giacomo
After the fierce battle with the wannabe DJ, you earn the following rewards:
- Giacomo’s Star Badge
- A variable amount of League Points
- TM062 Foul Play
- New TM Recipes and Materials for crafting TMs

2. Team Star Fire – Schedar Squad
Next in line is the Schedar Squad, found above Artazon town in East Province (Area One). Since this Crew’s typing is Fire, we highly recommend having Water, Ground, or Rock-type Pokémon in your party. Moreover, the recommended level to topple this Base is Level 27.
Beat Schedar Squad Grunt
As soon as you reach the Base’s entrance, you’ll see a Team Star Grunt blocking your way. Make sure your Pokémon are fully healed, as you’ll eventually have to battle the Grunt. The Grunt has a level 25 Houdour, which you can rip apart with any Water-type Pokémon. Beating him rewards you with 1,300 prize money.

Team Star Fire – Star Barrage
It’s the same procedure, your 3 Pokémon against 30 Grunt Pokémon. These are the Grunt Pokémon you’ll find in this Base:
- Houndour
- Numel
- Growlithe
- Litleo
- Torkoal
- Charcadet
As you can see, these are all Fire typings, so your best bet to handle this section as swiftly as possible is to go with Water, Ground, and Rock types. Finizen, Clodsire, and Klawf are excellent choices to clear this.

How To Beat Mela Team Star Fire Leader
Mela is the Schedar Squad’s leader, and she’ll appear once you’re done with this Base’s Star Barrage. Anyway, a level 27 Torkoal and a Level 26 Revavroom (Schedar Starmobile) are at her disposal. Since Toarkoal is purely Fire type, Finizen can make quick work of it. She then has the Schedar Starmobile, and despite being a Steel/Poison Pokémon, it also shares the Schedar Squad’s weakness.
Thus, once again, a Finizen or any other Water Pokémon can easily defeat the Schedar Starmobile despite its overly large stature.

You’ll find the Poison Crew’s Base just north of Zapapico city in the Tagtree Thicket forest. Pretty evident from its name, this Crew utilizes Poison-type Pokémon, and to counter them, Ground and Psychic types are your go-to choices. Similarly, level 33 Pokémon is recommended if you want to clear this Base quickly.
Beat Trainer Youssef
Instead of a Grunt, to gain entrance to the Base, you’ll have to fight Trainer Youssef. Youseff has a level 30 Gulpin and level 31 Shroodle. Psychic and Ground-type Pokémon can make quick work of Youseff’s Pokémon roster. Once you’ve beaten him, Youssef gives you 1,612 prize money and entrance to the Team Star Poison Base.

How To Beat Atticus Team Star Poison Leader

Gabite, as a Dragon/Ground Type and part of Garchomp’s evolutionary line, can quickly decimate Atticus’ lineup thanks to its strong Ground Moves.

4. Team Star Fairy – Ruchbah Squad
The Ruchbah Squad can be found north of Glaseado Mountain in the North Province (Area Three). This Crew’s main typing is Fairy, so you’ll mainly use Poison and Steel-type Pokémon to finish this Base quickly. Moreover, you’ll also want to have at least level 51 Pokémon at your disposal, or you’ll be swatted like a fly if you go in under-leveled.
Beat Trainer Harrington
Similarly, there won’t be any Grunt battle; instead, Trainer Harrington will face you right near the entrance point of the Team Star Fairy base. This trainer uses a Level 48 Morgrem and a Level 49 Hattrem. Morgrem is a dual-type Dark/Fairy Pokémon, so using Poison, Steel, or Fairy-type Pokémon will do the trick.

For Hatrem, you should use either a Bug, Dark, or Ghost Pokémon, as it isn’t a Fairy type but actually a Psychic type.

Team Star Fairy – Star Barrage
After beating Harrington, you now have access to the Base. Ring the bell inside, and the Star Barrage will start its 10-minute cooldown. Having said that, here are all the Grunt Pokémon you’ll have to fight:
- Jigglypuff
- Tinkatink
- Tinkatuff

- Gardevoir
- Wigglytuff
- Mimikyu
- Florges
- Marill
- Azumarill
- Grimmsnarl

Since the above-mentioned Grunt’s Pokémon are above level 45, if you don’t use Fairy’s counter, this section can stretch on for a long time. Therefore, it’s highly recommended to take Poison and Steel-type Pokémon for this Star Barrage. Tinkaton, with its Steel typing, can come in handy for the Fairy Star Barrage.

How To Beat Ortega Team Star Fairy Leader
With the Star Barrage out of the way, it’s time to face Ortega, the Fairy Crew Leader! Ortega uses a Level 50 Azumarill, Level 50 Wigglypuff, Level 51 Dachsbun and Level 50 Revavroom (Ruchbah Starmobile).
Azumarill, with its Water and Fairy typing, can efficiently be countered with Lightning, Grass, and Poison. The rest of Ortega’s lineup can be taken with either Steel or Poison typings. You’ll breeze through this fight using Pokémon like Tinkaton and Pawmo.

5. Team Star Fighting – Caph Squad
Your final endeavor in completing the Starfall Street story path is overthrowing the Caph Squad base. Located in the North Province (Area Two), northeast of the Furyfalls, this Crew specializes in Fighting type Pokémon. As such, having at least one of the Fairy, Flying, and Psychic typing in your party is recommended. Furthermore, we also recommend being at least Level 56 for the Caph Squad.

Beat Carmen Of Team Star
Although you’ll find Eri — Fighting Crew Leader — just up ahead, you still won’t have an audience with her yet. That said, you’ll instead be met by Carmen, and after chatting with her, she’ll take us on with her level 54 Croagunk and Level 55 Primape. Both these Pokémon have Psychic and Flying-type weaknesses in common; thus, either typing will do the job of beating Carmen.
Carmen gives you 2,860 prize money after beating her and the entry to the Fighting Crew’s Base!

You now have your much-awaited encounter with Eri, the Fighting Crew boss. She’s strong and has various dual-fighting type Pokémons, including a Level 55 Toxicroak, Level 55 Passimian, Level 56 Annilihape, Level 55 Lucario, and Level 56 Revavroom (Caph Starmobile).
While Eri’s first four entries can be quickly taken out using an Armarogue with some potions in between, Eri’s Revavroom poses quite a threat. It will eventually start to one-shot you if you drag this fight, thanks to the stats boost Revavroom gains. Thus, we recommend stocking up on some Max Potions and Revives for Eri’s Revavroom.
