What Does Earthquake Do?

Earthquake is a powerful Ground-type Physical Attack that damages all Pokémon on the field, making it an effective move against large groups of enemies. On top of this, it has an impressive Power of 100, making it one of the strongest offensive moves in the game.

In addition to its offensive capabilities, you can use Earthquake to hit certain Pokémon in hiding, such as the ones underground or those who have used the move Dig. It is generally a strong and useful attack to have in a Pokémon’s move set.

Players that have access to the Earthquake TM can teach this powerful move to Pokémon earlier than they would naturally be able to learn or to Pokémon that might not be able to learn the move by leveling up at all.

Earthquake TM’s Location In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

You can get your hands on the Earthquake TM by completing a task for the Pokémon League representative at the northern Pokémon Center in Cascarrafa. This representative will give you the TM after defeating five Asado Desert trainers.

Luckily, this task is more straightforward than you might think!

  • Cross the bridge near the Cascarrafa Pokémon Center, then go west to find the first trainer
  • Head south and find trainers at the base of each of the three mountains in the southern central portion of the Asado Desert
  • Head north towards Porto Marinada to find one final trainer

After defeating the trainers, head back to the northern Cascarrafa flight path waypoint where you will get the Earthquake TM.

How To Craft Earthquake TM In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

You can use a TM Machine at a Pokémon Center to create copies of an Earthquake TM that you already have. This means you don’t need to look for more copies of the TM. The following are the materials you will need to craft each new copy:

  • 12,000 League Points (LP)
  • 3 Diglett Dirt
  • 5 Phanpy Nails
  • 3 Barboach Slimes

A lot of high-level Pokémon will naturally learn Earthquake in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, but teaching it to at least one of your Pokémon early on is bound to increase its battle strength.
