Berries are a consumable item in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet that offer buffs, immunity, status effects, and increased friendship to name a few benefits. Although they are commonly overlooked by casual players, Berries have been one of the most valuable and essential items throughout many Pokemon games. Some Berries can even be used to reset and customize EV points so that you have much better control over your Pokemon’s stats, which is beneficial if you play the game competitively. Berries are scattered all throughout the map and you’ll need to explore the vast lands of Paldea to find them.
Where to find berries in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet
You can find berries in four ways in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet:
- Sparkling dropped item
- Porto Marinada auction
- Gym Challenge reruns
- Tera raid battles
In Pokemon Scarlet And Violet, you won’t be plucking Berries out of trees, growing them, or buying them from stores. Instead, there are only four known ways to farm Berries in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.
Sparkling Dropped Item
Your first method of getting Berries in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is through Sparkling dropped items. While roaming in the Paldea Region, you’ll come across countless golden shinies on the ground. These are Sparkling dropped items, and you won’t know if it’sgoing to be a Berry or another item until you pick it up.
Porto Marinada auction
Pokemon Scarlet and Violet auctions are held in Porto Marinda’s market. Rare items are sold there, including berries. They are sold in bulk, and you’ll have to outbid NPCs who are also interested in buying the Berries. Make sure to visit Porto Marinda from time to time with plenty of cash to check up if there are any rare Berries up for grabs.
Reset the auction
You can reset the Porto Marinada auction at any time by switching the day your Nintendo Switch system is set to. You simply need to exit the game, change the date, and then launch the game to see the items change.
Gym challenge reruns
Another unconventional way of farming Berries in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is by completing Gym challenge reruns. However, Gyms will only be available for a rechallenge if you’ve completed the Victory Road story path.
Tera Raid Battles
Lastly, you can farm berries from Tera raid battles. You’ll mainly earn EV-reducing berries by battling certain Pokemon in Five Star Tera Raids. As the number of stars rises, the harder the Tera Raids get, so don’t take five Star Tera Raids lightly.
