Fairy-types like Igglybuff, Clefairy, Sylveon, Togekiss, and Mimikyu, have become very popular over the years, both in the game and in the Anime series. Jigglypuff and Tokepi were fan favourites when the anime first came out and have been popular ever since. Not only do fairy Pokémons have a cute appearance, but they also have strong resistance against certain popular Pokémon types. Let’s go through their strengths and weaknesses.

  • Fairy Pokémons are strong against Fighting , Dragon and Dark type moves.

What are Fairy-type Pokémon strong against?

Fairy-type Pokémon are strong against Dragon, Dark, and Fighting-type enemies – fairy-types were introduced to balance against these types. So if you’re going against any one of these, having a Fairy-type on your side will give you a major boost. Speaking of resistances, these Pokémon are completely immune to any Dragon-type attacks along with Bug, Dark, and Fighting-type attacks.

What are Fairy-type Pokémon weak to?

Fairy-types are weak against Poison and Steel-type attacks, so if you’re going toe-to-toe against a Fairy type, be sure to bring them with your team. Keep in mind that these won’t be just enough to beat a Fairy Type; you’ll also want your Pokémon to have some powerful movesets to be effective against them. The strengths and weaknesses of the Fairy-type we’ve stated above will work for all current games, including Pokémon Go, Pokémon Sword and Shield, Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pearl, and Pokémon Legends: Arceus.

Fairy-type Pokémon were introduced in Gen 6. Although many Pokémon already existed in the games and anime, the specific type was only introduced in Gen 6. Fairy Pokémons are usually easy to identify since they have a pink shade to them and mostly feminine traits with the exception of a few, such as Grimmsnarl and Galarian Weezing. Some of the Fairy Type Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet are:

  • Marill
  • Azumarill
  • Dedenne
