The Booster Glaive Pipe Wrench combo scales pretty well with motivity builds, starting off with a B in scaling even before any modifications. As such, high strength builds will get a lot of damage out of this one with its powerful normal strikes and devastating charged combos – easier to prepare when you’ve got more range to work with.

As a final added cherry, this weapon has a fantastic Guard Damage Reduction Rate, making it easy to regain your health on a successful parry against targets. The only downsides here are slow attacks and a pretty hefty stamina consumption, so make sure to account for both if you choose this weapon.

Wintry Rapier blade and Salamander Dagger handle

On the opposite end from our previous entry, this is a weapon with limited range but great mobility. The Rapier blade offers fast, precise attacks, while the Salamander handle alters the moveset to a slashing one, widening the weapon’s attack arc and improving its capabilities for dealing with multiple targets.

What makes this a particular standout is the sheer speed of these attacks however, with simple strikes becoming easy to land in quick succession during openings. This makes it surprisingly good for dealing with larger enemies, so long as you have the endurance for that fight.

Though it lacks a strong Guard Defence, the low stamina costs of this weapon give it a great synergy with dodging manoeuvres and clever positioning. It’ll put in the work you need if you’re running a dexterity based build.

Fire Axe blade and Wintry Rapier handle

The smallest weapon on this list, it’s nonetheless surprisingly capable. The Fire Axe blade is light, and thus has some pretty fast attacks.Yet it deals surprisingly high damage for its size, granting this weapon a fantastic balance between speed and power.

Even better, the Wintry Rapier handle scales brilliantly with technique, reaching and A scaling after a single weapon upgrade. This all makes for a weapon that can exploit pretty tight openings for pretty significant damage.

It’s two downsides are a pretty poor Guard Defence and a very limited range. Balanced against pretty standard stamina consumption, it’s up to you whether to try tackling bosses with this weapon. Nevertheless, it’s a pretty great weapon combo, and one we used throughout our playthrough for our Lies of P review.

Acidic Crystal Spear blade and Pipe Wrench handle

Unlike the other weapons on this list, the Acidic Crystal Spear is set apart for its capacity to inflict both physical and acid damage on targets, making it a grave threat to opponents vulnerable to the status effect. This build combines that deadly blade with a powerful handle for maximum effect.

The Pipe Wrench handle offers great motivity scaling, long range, and more power than the regular handle of the Crystal Spear. This creates a weapon with long, arcing strikes that can easily connect with multiple enemies in one hit. Powerful strikes like this also help to maximise the damage output you inflict while the enemy suffers from the Decay status effect. This is even better improved by the acid spray Fable Art this weapon boasts.

All this alongside a pretty fantastic Guard Defence gives you a weapon that still isn’t all that fast, and costs quite a bit of stamina, but deals multiple types of damage over a longer range. It might be a tough choice between the Booster Glaive and Pipe Wrench combo and this one, but when you need that additional effect damage, this is a great pick.

Wintry Rapier blade and Acidic Crystal Spear handle

We’ve talked quite a bit about weapon range – or weapon reach if you prefer – in this guide. While there are plenty of fantastic options, none quite compete with this combination. Putting a long blade on a long handle results in a weapon that can reach further than most, without compromising speed and mobility.

The Wintry Rapier blade as discussed is a pretty great choice for dealing fast, precise damage, and it retains those qualities well on this build. The Acidic Spear handle might not be quite as impressive in its scaling, but it makes up for this by providing a reach that allows you to dispatch enemies far outside of their own attack range. This thing is fantastic for removing lesser foes without hassle or issue, and retains some great Fable Arts for damage.

Though damage overall isn’t fantastic, there’s enough speed in your attacks here to make up for this shortcoming, and if enemies do manage to close the gap, it still sports a pretty decent Guard Defence, though not as high as some of the weapons on this list.
