Where to find the Faded Whistle in Lies of P

You can find the Faded Whistle at the back of the Scrapped Watchman’s arena in City Hall to complete Toma’s quest. It goes without saying but you’re probably best to beat the Scrapped Watchman before attempting to search for it.

You’ll find the whistle at the back of the arena next to a stone bench, with the word “Friend” carved into the ground before it. It’s described as a “Faded police whistle” that has been “worn smooth from use”, and the description gives some insight into the Scrapped Watchman – Murphy’s – relationship with the children of Krat, who treated him as a friend despite his discarded nature.

Toma’s Side quest explained

Having the whistle is a crucial quest step, but you’ll still need to know how to carry out the rest of the quest first. Step one is to find Toma, a sick child stat by a lit window on Elysion Boulevard.

Where to find Toma

You can find Toma shortly after reaching the House on Elysion Boulevard Stargazer. Follow the steps below to find him.

  • Head forward from the Stargazer onto the rooftops.
  • Navigate the rooftops until you reach the slim section of roof that bridges across to the other side of the street.
  • Off to the side of this bridging roof should be a ladder down to the streets below. Take it.
  • Follow the coughing and quiet dialogue over to the other side of the street.
  • Approach the lit window, and you’ll see a “Talk” interaction pop up.

Once you speak to him, Toma will explain that he misses his friend Murphy, the police watchman puppet, who used to play with him and the other kids before he became sick with the Petrification Disease. He’ll reminisce about Murphy’s whistle, which the puppet used to blow to signal his arrival.

How to complete Toma’s quest in Lies of P

Once you have the Faded Whistle, head back to Toma’s window. Go into your inventory, scroll to the whistle and select ‘Use’ to blow it. Toma will chime up, thinking that you’re Murphy, finally returned to check in on all the children again. This interaction will complete the quest, and reward you a Radiant Ergo Fragment.
