Assassin’s Creed Mirage skill points are vital if you want to use any of the skills available in Ubisoft’s latest entry in the series. By pivoting away from the RPG elements of Valhalla and Odyssey, which relies on an XP levelling system, getting skill points in Mirage is immediately obvious. That’s especially the case if you’re in the early hours and wondering how to access skills.
We’ll walk you through how to get skill points in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, something we zeroed in on during the many hours we played the game for our review. For more help exploring the Round City, we have guides covering the best gear and best skills.
How to get skill points in Assassin’s Creed Mirage
Skill Points become available once you start the Taking Flight quest, where you’ll watch Basim star in a thrilling little training montage, rising from thieving nuisance to a genuine assassin worthy of the Hidden Ones.
From that point onward, there are four ways to get skill points in Assassin’s Creed Mirage:
- Complete main story quests
- Complete optional Tales of Baghdad mini quests
- Complete specific Contracts issued at the Hidden One Bureaus around Baghdad
- Find Lost Books around Baghdad and the Wilderness
Main story quests
Completing main story quests grant skill points. How many depends on the quest and whether or not you’re going after a big name assassination target or a middle man, but the general rule is that if you’re short on skill points, hope to the Investigation screen and solve a couple cases. Check out the Assassin’s Creed Mirage quest list for all the missions in the game.
Tales of Baghdad side quests
Tales of Baghdad side quests also give you skill points. These are optional mini quests that you’ll find each district and further afield in the Wilderness. Typically, you’ll get no more than a point or two per tale, depending on how involved it is. But most should only take you 5-10 minutes to complete, if that. If you’re after these, check out all the Tales of Baghdad locations.
Contracts
You also get skill points for completing certain Contracts. These are short quests that involve assassinating a specific target, stealing a certain item, or escorting an NPC. You can take them on by interacting the Contract Board in any of the four Hidden Ones Bureau around Baghdad. At the board, hover over a Contract to whether it rewards points and how many of them. So far, the Contracts we’ve come across that offer points are:
- The Bronze Mirror Heist
- The Kidnapped Scholar
- The Perfume Trader
- The State Official
- The Fake Message
- The Informant
Lost Books
Lastly, you also get one skill point every time you pick up one of the 7 Lost Books hidden around Baghdad and the Wilderness. These are optional collectibles bundled into a side quest called Al-Jahiz’s Lost Books, triggered when you first interact with the NPC at the House of Wisdom in Abbasiyah. If you’re after these, check out all the Lost Books locations.
