The best weapons and gear in Assassin’s Creed Mirage should complement your playstyle, whether you prefer keeping to shadows or taking on guards head on. While gear doesn’t play as important a role as in the most recent RPG-focused AC games like Odyssey and Valhalla, it’s worth spending a bit of time decking out Basim with the best outfit, sword, and dagger.
In that spirit, here’s what we’ve settled on as the best gear in Assassin’s Creed Mirage after our playthrough for our review. It goes without saying that what works for us may not for you, so don’t hesitate to experiment as you go. For more help when you’re out and about in Baghdad, check out our notoriety and tokens explainer guides. And, we highly recommend pairing your gear with the best skills in Assassin’s Creed Mirage.
Here’s the best gear in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. We’ve selected a few for each category to give you options. Weapons and outfits are obtained from Gear Chests or as rewards for completing Contracts. You can upgrade them for better stats and a damage boost at the blacksmith using an upgrade schematic (also found in Gear Chests) in exchange for resources, specifically leather and steel ingots.
Outfit
- Milad’s Outfit – includes the Forgotten Terror ability, which sets off lightning that disorients enemies and civilians within a 15 metre radius for every successful air assassination. You’ll get the Milad’s Outfit for bringing back five Mysterious Shards to the hidden chamber in the Norther Oasis, accessed during The Calling side quest.
- Initiate of Alamut Outfit – Silent Blade ability reduces the noise Basim makes during assassinations, starting at 50%, then 75%, and 100% for the final upgrade. The Initiate of Alamut Outfit is Basim’s default assassin’s garbs, which you’ll have once you make it past the opening and tutorial.
- Hidden One Outfit – Deadly Moment fills up Basim’s Focus Chunks by up to 15% when fully upgraded for every stealth kill. It’s obtained from the Gear Chest in the Mazalim Courts, which are in the Administrative District of the Round City.
- Abbasid Knight Outfit – the Lick Your Wound perk regenerates 1% of Basim’s health every 2 seconds when undetected, up to a maximum of 50% of maximum health. This jumps to 2%, and then 3% for each upgrade.
The Rostam Outfit (obtained for wrapping up The Marked Coins contract mission) and the Zanj Uprising Outfit (Gear Chest in the Khurasan Gate Guardhouse in the Khuld part of southeast Harbiyah) are the weakest options in our opinion.
Sword
- Initiate of Alamut Sword – the Sharpened Blade boost the damage of your next attack by 50% after every successful parry. The sword is Basim’s default weapon, so you’ll get it at the start of the game.
- Hidden One Sword – Venomous imbues every fifth attack with poison that damages enemies over time. You can grab this one by looting the Gear Chest in the Abandoned Caravanserai in the Wilderness West.
- Shamshir-e Zomorrodnegar – this one is a bit of a gamble and one for those that like a bit of risk. Blood Price lowers Basim’s max health by 50% but boosts damage by 50%. Obtained for collecting three Mysterious Shards and interacting with the first slab in the hidden chamber at the Northern Oasis.
We feel the Rostam Sword (given for finishing The Weapons Dealer contract), Zanj Uprising Sword (Gear Chest in the Metal Factory in the Shari’ district of Harbiyah), and Abbasid Knight Sword (Gear Chest in the Scriptorium in the Yasiriyah part of Abbasiyah) don’t offer quite enough in terms of utility to make them worthwhile.
Dagger
- The Samsaama – Life Steal heals Basim for 10% of his health every fifth hit. Obtained for bringing two shards back to the hidden chamber under the Northern Oasis in the Wilderness North.
- Initiate of Alamut Dagger – the Aggressive Defence perk grants Basim +25 defense damage for every parry. This is Basim’s starting dagger, so there are no extra steps to acquire the weapon.
- Hidden One Dagger – Spread creates a poison cloud that damages nearby enemies whenever a melee hit kills a poisoned enemy. Pair with the Hidden One Sword for devastating results. This is looted from the Gear Chest at the Water Mill in the Wilderness North.
The Rostam Dagger (Given to Basim for completing The Satiric Poet contract), Zanj Uprising Dagger (Gear Chest in The Great Bimaristan in the southwest of Haylanah in Abbasiyah), and Abbasid Knight Dagger (Gear Chest in the Qasr Salih in the very north of Shargiyah in Karkh) didn’t muster up enough to make our list, though can be strong options situationally or if you prefer a more head-on combat style.
If you’re wondering about talismans, they are purely cosmetic and have no combat or stat-boosting value. Pick the one you like the look over or the one that matches best with your costume and dye choice.
We’ll keep an eye out for more gear that’s worth using, but for the moment that covers the best gear in Assassin’s Creed Mirage. We also have guides covering all the Lost Books locations, Enigma locations and solutions, and Tales of Baghdad locations across the city and Wilderness.
