Pickpocketing in AC Mirage is a fun and easy task to pull off, and should be done at every given moment. As you make your way through Baghdad as Basim, you will notice that opportunities to pickpocket will present themselves to you. While you are supposed to uphold a noble attitude to the innocent common folk, sometimes you just have to steal from them.

Better yet, Pickpocketing is something you should do at any given moment, seeing as there are no downsides to doing it. Elsewhere in Assassin’s Creed Mirage, we spent quite a bit of time with the game and you can read our thoughts about it in our Assassin’s Creed Mirage review. We also have a guide covering how to get Kong’s plate from Luca during Gilded Butterflies in AC Mirage.

How to pickpocket in AC Mirage

To pickpocket in AC Mirage, all you have to do is approach an NPC who has an item hanging off their back and press Triangle to initiate pickpocketing. As you approach – you can be standing or crouching and it doesn’t matter – you will see a prompt appear. On PlayStation, this is Triangle. Press Triangle and you will initiate a quick-time-event where you must press Triangle again when the white diamond is in the blue. Doing this will constitute successful pickpocketing and you will get Trinkets to sell at the vendor.

Failing a pickpocket attempt will cause the victim to raise the alarm and run to the guards for help. If you fail, run away and get away from the guards to avoid detection or stand your ground and fight them off. There seems to be absolutely zero downside to pickpocketing people so you should do it when and where you can. It wouldn’t be an Assassin’s Creed game without some jank in the AI, and it seems that people simply do not care if you are robbing citizens in broad daylight, in direct line of sight of everyone. Use Eagle Vision to identify someone who has an item to steal and use your sticky fingers to grab as many items as possible.
