How to use the Zap Gun in Lethal Company
While you might think you just need to left-click to use the Zap Gun, this is wrong, and won’t activate it. Instead, you first have to use your right-click to scan the area for targets. Once your scan detects a target within range, you can now hold down left mouse button to fire a beam of electricity. This electrical charge will automatically strike any creatures within range, stunning them for a period of time. You can refill the Zap Gun’s battery on the recharge station on your ship, like you would with your flashlight or walkie talkie.
Alex’s Advice
The Zap Gun can also hit your teammates if you’re not careful, so watch out. Or alternatively, if you don’t really like your friends, knock yourself out!
Once the enemy is stunned, you’ve got two options. First, you can just run away. This is a great idea if you’re unarmed, or if you’re near the exit and know your way there. Secondly, you can use this time to kill the enemy. If you or a crewmate has a weapon like a shovel or stop sign, you can hit the stunned enemy a few times to kill them, ensuring your safety.
Be aware that some creatures are immune to the effects of the Zap Gun, and will not be stunned no matter how much you zap them. Once zapped, a creatures turn hostile and will immediately try to attack you. Here is a list of creatures, and whether or not they can be stunned:
Creature | Can be stunned? | Effect |
Jester | Yes | Prevents it from winding up |
Forest Keeper | Yes | Frees teammates that have been grabbed |
Turrets | Yes | Momentarily disables them, preventing them from shooting |
Eyeless Dogs | Yes | Immobilises them and stops them from attacking |
