Does Lethal Company have an ending?

At the time of writing, Lethal Company does not have an ending. The game’s premise and main goal sees you as a member of a scrap salvage crew, gathering scrap to meet your quota for the titular Company. However, there is no actual ending to the game, with the game being a more continuous experience as long as you and your teammates can remain alive.

In this sense, it’s kind of like a horror-roguelike, where each run simply ends when you die, and you start from nothing again in the next run. It makes sense in the world of the game, as you’re little more than another random employee to the Company, with your only purpose being to collect scrap, so there’s no real story as such that needs finishing.

Alex’s Advice

While there’s no main story as such, the game is full of journal entries and data logs to discover, that give you lore and easter eggs about the game’s world.

Will Lethal Company get an ending?

Right now, we have no idea whether or not Lethal Company will get an ending, but we think that it’s fairly unlikely. While the game is still in the early access phase, developer Zeekerss may still decide to add a story mode to the game with a proper ending, but that wouldn’t really fit in with the lore and setting of the game so far.

Lethal Company’s popularity comes from the fun gameplay and how easy it is to jump in and play with friends, and we think that any kind of story-focused game mode would detract from that. As such, it’s likely that Zeekerss will probably look to focus on adding new moons, creature variety, items and gameplay features instead. However, with enough player feedback asking for an ending, we might see one after all.
