How to open doors in Lethal Company

To open your standard closed door in Lethal Company, it’s just a matter of walking up to them and holding down the ‘E’ key. A circle will appear on your screen, and once that fills up, the door will open and you can head through.

This is fairly simple, but remember not to just tap E, as this won’t open it. This is especially important if you’re being chased by any creatures, as the time wasted by tapping instead of holding E and having to start again could end up killing you.

How to open locked doors in Lethal Company

Sometimes, you’ll come to a door and you’ll just see the message ‘Locked’ on your screen. This means you can’t simply open it, and you first need to find a key to unlock it. Keys can be found lying around inside any level, typically on the floor just like any other piece of scrap.

Once you’ve got your key, return to the door, and click the left mouse button (LMB) to unlock it. Now, simply hold down E as you would with any other door to open it up. When a door has been unlocked, you lose the key you used, but the door will permanently remain unlocked.

How to unlocked secured doors using the ship’s terminal in Lethal Company

Unlocking secured doors requires you to have one of your crewmates on your ship, as well as a walkie-talkie to communicate with them. When you come up to a secured door, you will see a two-digit alphanumerical code marked on the door itself (e.g. A1). Tell this code to your teammate on the ship. They can input this code into the terminal computer to open up the door. Each door has its own unique code, so simply repeat this for any more secured doors you come across.

As well as opening doors, you can use codes like this to disable any turrets and mines you find inside.

If you’re in the ship, you can also use the view monitor command to switch to viewing one of your teammates, where you’ll be able to see the ship codes on the map around them. This can be handy for unlocking doors if you don’t have a walkie-talkie to talk to them with.
