How can I get skill sets in Road to the Show?

When you’re playing Road to the Show, you might have noticed your unique Skill Set. It determines how you play baseball. You can be any of the following and more:

• The Showboat
• The Duke
• The Anomaly
• Slick Slugger
• Sparking Slugger
• Speedy Slugger

These all boost your overall attributes. For example, the Speedy Slugger skill set improves your power and speed. There are also levels to these. Once you get to a certain ballplayer level, you can get better skill sets. At first, it will just be a stronger version of the existing skill sets. Then, you’ll get fun, unique ones that provide a massive improvement. These usually don’t come until you’re in the major leagues in MLB The Show 24.

You might have different ones if you’re a pitcher, since you’re not hitting or fielding. We play third base and don’t pitch, so we just have the ones that are accessible to hitters. The Anomaly is ours, and it provides a boost to our power, arm strength, and running stats in Road to the Show mode.

Once you’ve earned enough to get a stronger skill set, you will see a massive boost in OVR. We went from a 77 to an 83 with our latest new skill set, so it makes the grind a lot easier.

Pitching skill sets will increase your velocity, location, breaking balls, and more. They will help you get strikeouts more often and improve your overall in the same way. In our experience, these MLB The Show 24 skill sets bring an OVR boost of about six or so to a batter, so it’s much better than a perk or singular attribute boost could do.

Keep in mind that these are for Road to The Show mode. There’s nothing like this for Diamond Dynasty. Within Road to the Show, shortstops, power hitters, any infield or outfield player can get these skill sets and mold a player to be exactly what they want.
