Rise of the Ronin – how to change the time of day

Sometimes you might want a change of scenery, and switching from day to night or vice versa is exactly what you want. To this end, learning how to change the time of day in Rise of the Ronin will let you do exactly that.

Often you will have quests or other objectives that can only be tackled at nighttime, which makes this the best way to skip ahead instead of waiting around. There is a day and night cycle, but it’s best not to be stuck to its schedule.

How to change time of day in Rise of the Ronin

Changing the time of day in Rise of the Ronin can be done by using the Pocket Watch item or by resting in your Longhouse.

Both the Longhouse and the Pocketwatch are tied to the main Ronin Missions involving Ryoma Sakamoto. As such, the Pocket Watch is given to you by Ryoma during the Pleasure District Portrait quest. Likewise, once you reach the end of this quest, you unlock the Longhouse.

To use the Pocket Watch and change the time of day, simply select it from the item menu. It can also be assigned to your item hotbar for easy use. When used, you can choose to wait until Morning, Noon, or Night. If you want to change the time of day at the Longhouse, all you need to do is go there and choose the Relax option.

To this end, you should make sure you get through this Ronin mission as far as you can to give you more options. The Longhouse functions as a base of operations while the Pocket Watch is incredibly useful in its own right. You will need the Pocket Watch to complete some photo op missions since some pictures must be captured at specific times of day.
