Round 1 – Three-Card Stud

The first puzzle is Three-Card Stud. For this game, you need to make the following moves with the Queen’s Blood cards you are given:

  1. Place the Fleetwing on the bottom row on the right side
  2. Place the Zu card in the top-left corner
  3. Place the Quetzalcoatl in the center row between the two other cards

When finished, the cards should form a diagonal line from the top left to the bottom right. You will get the Fleetwing card for completing this puzzle.

Round 2 – Go for Choco-Broke

The second challenge is the Go for Choco-Broke challenge and it is a bit more difficult. You have a three-by-three square to work with in this puzzle. Let’s break down the steps for it.

  1. Place the Fat Chocobo in the bottom-left corner
  2. Place the Posh Chocobo in the bottom-right corner
  3. Place the Moogle & Chocobo between the two previous cards place in the bottom middle

Setting everything up like this should get you the win against the puzzle opponent. As a reward, you will get the Posh Chocobo card.

Round 3 – Mischief Making Moogles

The third challenge for the story is the Mischief Making Moogle puzzle. Again, this one is a bit more difficult than puzzle number two. You will need to make the following moves to complete it. Note: the board size you have here has three rows and two columns.

  1. Place the Fleetwing card in the right column in the center row.
  2. Place the Moogle Trio in the left column in the center row next to the Fleetwing. This will get you two additional cards; Moogle Bard and Moogle Mage.
  3. Place the Moogle Bard card in the left column in the top row.
  4. Place the Moogle Mage in the right column in the bottom row.
  5. Place the Grasslands Wolf in the left column in the bottom row next to the Moogle Mage.

For completing this puzzle, you will get the Moogle Trio card.

Spears and Needles puzzle solution

Now that you are done with the story-based puzzles, you can get to work on the bonus rounds. The first of these is Spears and Needles. We will break down the locations you need to place the cards based on column and row starting with the column closest to Cloud as column one.

  1. Place the Cactuar in the top row, column three
  2. Place the Spearhawk beneath the Cactuar in row two, column three
  3. Place the second Spearhawk beneath the first in row three, column three
  4. Place the Quetzelcoatl to the right of the second Spearhawk in row three, column four

As a reward for completing this puzzle, you will get the Spearhawk card.

Sea Devil by Night puzzle solution

This puzzle will get pretty confusing because you need to destroy cards to make openings for new cards. Because of this, there will be multiple cards that we state belong in the same column and row as previous ones. Once again, we will designate the rows as one, two, and three starting at the top and the columns as one to five starting on the left.

  1. Place the Security Officer in row three, column two (gets destroyed)
  2. Place a Sea Devil in row two, column two
  3. Place a second Sea Devil in row three, column one
  4. Place Mandragora where the Security Officer was in row three, column two (gets destroyed)
  5. Place the second Mandragora in the same spot – row three, column two (also gets destroyed)
  6. Place a Mandragora Minion in row two, column one
  7. Place the second Mandragora Minion in row three, column two (gets destroyed)

This will power up the Sea Devils and allow you to win the match. Your reward for this will be the Sea Devil card.

A Kingly Clash puzzle solution

Again, the Kingly Clash puzzle will involve a lot of card placements. Remember the column and row designation and this will go smoothly. Place the cards in the following order:

  1. Place a Zu card in row one, column two
  2. Place the second Zu card in row three, column two
  3. Place the Tonberry King in row two, column three between the Flametroopers
  4. Place a Deathwheel in row one, column one (destroys cards)
  5. Place a second Deathwheel in row three, column one (destroys cards)
  6. Place Mindflayer card in row two, column one (destroys Deathwheels)

Throughout this puzzle, you will be destroying cards to power up the Tonberry King and win. By completing this puzzle, you will get the Tonberry King.

Power-Down Practice puzzle solution

Since this is the practice puzzle, it does not come with a reward but it is a good way to sharpen your skill and get used to the puzzles ahead. Place the cards in the following locations to complete it:

  1. Place Archdragon in row three, column two (destroys card)
  2. Place second Archdragon in row three, column three
  3. Place the Quetzalcoatl in row two, column two

That will complete all of the puzzles in the Card Carnival the first time you visit. Later on, you will have access to more puzzles like the Curse of the Gi. You will also be able to get a Collector’s Card for each of the characters like Tifa, Barret, Aerith, Cloud, Red XIII, Cait Sith, Vincent, and Yuffie.
