Is Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth on Xbox? Square Enix’s second installment in the ongoing FF7 remake trilogy is almost here, and knowing the platforms it will release on may influence your decision to get it.
After a long wait, and with a longer wait still to come for the third and final entry, fans can nearly enjoy the next part of Cloud’s journey to stop Sephiroth and save the planet.

Will Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth come to Xbox?
At the time of writing, there is no word on an Xbox release for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. FF7 is only confirmed for the PS5, but this exclusivity will last until May 29, 2024. This note on exclusivity was shown during the trailer for the game in a message that reads: “Not available on other formats at least until 05.29.2024”.
It stands to reason we will see a PC port of the game, and it’s not outside the realm of possibility that an Xbox release could be on the cards. As it stands, the first entry in FF7 Remake is not available on Xbox, but it is on PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store. For now, Xbox players will need to wait.
Once this window of PS5 exclusivity ends, it is entirely possible we might see more ports pop up. However, it might be bad news for Xbox and Microsoft fans, especially if you look at how FF7 Remake has not made its way to the console, nor has it come to Xbox Game Pass in any capacity.
With that in mind, Sony has given plenty of Square games ports over to Xbox over the years, and the exclusivity window on Rebirth is pointedly much shorter than the exclusivity deal with the first entry in the Final Fantasy remake.
Whether Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will still contain the same story twists or opt for alternate timelines remains to be seen, but we don’t have long to wait now. It seems unlikely at this point, especially considering the first game didn’t get a port to Xbox or Game Pass. Perhaps when the entire Remake trilogy has been released this might happen.
