Like all contraband goods, they can be detected by scanners when you enter the orbit of certain planets in United Colonies and Freestar Collective space, which can get you arrested if they are detected.
Where to get Sentient AI Adapters
Like other contraband, they can be found through a variety of methods, such as looting them from spacer and pirate outposts and stealing ships. Our favourite method of farming Sentient AI Adapters is through the contraband cache at the Almagest Casino. Next to the Jackpot Backend terminal is a chest holding a variety of contraband. Simply loot this, wait for 306 UT hours, and then return to loot the chest again.

Make sure you have a place to sit or sleep on your ship. This way, you can easily wait on your ship before coming back to the Casino to get more Sentient AI Adapters.
Where to sell Sentient AI Adapters
The best place to sell contraband like Sentient AI Adapters is at a Trade Authority merchants and kiosks. While you can do this in places like New Atlantis, unless your ship is capable of smuggling by consistently avoiding the inventory scans like using the Deception skill, shielded cargo holds and scan jammers, we would recommend going somewhere with no contraband scan to sell your loot. The Den space station orbiting the planet Nesoi in the Wolf system, and the Crimson Fleet base on The Key orbiting Suvorov in the Kryx star system are both great options. Just make sure the amount of credits the Trade Authority vendor has is enough for the value of the contraband.
