Best rings in Lords of the Fallen

Here are the best rings in Lords of the Fallen. Keep in mind that this list is based on what we’ve discovered so far while playing through the game for our Lords of the Fallen review. As we go further and discover more, this list is sure to expand.

  • Mineowner’s Ring
  • Defiance Ring
  • Ring of Radiant Preeminence
  • Charred Root
  • Ring of Nourishment
  • Queen Verena II’s Ring

Let’s go over each of these in some more detail and explain why they’re so good, and how you can get them for yourself.

The Mineowner’s Ring

The Mineowner’s Ring offers a fairly straightforward bonus. When worn, it’ll increase your maximum stamina and your stamina regeneration rate. The boost to both isn’t gigantic, but it is significant, and can make for a good auxiliary support choice for players who favour consistent aggression or players faced with particularly fast or numerous foes. What makes this ring particularly good for what it does though is how early in your playthrough you’ll find it. In fact, it may well be the very first ring you come across in-game, meaning you can make use of it from almost the very beginning of your playthrough.

Where to find the Mineowner’s Ring.

You can find the Mineowner’s Ring very early on. Make your way up the path from the Windmill Vestige until you come to the stone bridge. There will be a couple of enemies here. After dispatching them, look to your right, and you should see a corpse hanging from the wall of a ruined building. Knock or shoot this corpse down and it’ll drop the item that was on it – the Mineowner’s Ring.

Defiance Ring

Jack of all trades, master of none, but better than a master of none. The old saying holds true for the Defiance Ring. This ring offers increased resistance against all status effects. While like the Mineowner’s Ring the scale of this bonus is limited, it’s nonetheless a useful tool for exploring areas where multiple types of damage are present, or areas where you’ve no anticipation for what to expect. With this ring, you’ve got a small bonus in every situation, and in some cases that’ll be the difference between life and death.

Where to find the Defiance Ring

The Defiance Ring can be found near the end of your journey through Pilgrim’s Path. You’ll first need to reach the area where Gerlinde is being held, the blacksmith crucial to upgrading weapons in this game. Head down to the area containing her jail cell. We’d recommend clearing it out first. Over by the back of the room you’ll find a blocked entrance with a corpse attached into a latticework of branches. This likely won’t be the first time you’ve encountered this particular sight. You need to enter the Umbral Realm and then soulflay the corpse to open the doorway. The room beyond is small, but contains a chest, which has the Defiance Ring inside.

Ring of Radiant Preeminence

The Ring of Radiant Preeminence is much more niche than our first two entries, but is undeniably one of the best utility rings in the game. This ring allows you to cast radiant spells and incantations with a non-radiant catalyst, meaning an umbral or infernal catalyst. A catalyst is the tool used to perform magic. This is immensely useful, as it means you can focus resources on upgrading and improving one less catalyst. You can cast both infernal and radiant sorceries with the same catalyst, for example, allowing you to maintain a diverse arsenal.

You can find this ring in Fitzroy’s Gorge. Head into the large cavern by following the main path, and you’ll come to a section where a Trapper will begin firing at you. Keep going up the path to your right. You’ll soon come to an Emergence Effigy. Nearby to it is an impaled corpse, which has the Ring of Radiant Preeminence on it.

Charred Root

This one is fairly simple, as it’s the sibling ring to the Ring of Radiant Preeminence. The Charred Root allows you to cast infernal sorceries from any non-infernal catalyst. If you favour pyromancies over holy magic, this is the ring for you.

Where to find Charred Root

Unlike most of the rings on this list, Charred Root can’t be found. Instead, you’ll need to beat Spurned Progeny in Lower Calrath. After this, you’ll need to get this boss’ Remembrance, and head to Molhu, who can sell you the ring from the Remembrance menu.

Ring of Nourishment

The Ring of Nourishment is another simple but effective one, and the sort of ring any build can make use of. While wearing it, kills will regenerate a small portion of the player’s health back. This is fantastically useful, given how rare the chance to upgrade the Sanguinarix can be in some stretches of the game. While the health replenished per kill is miniscule, the sheer enemy density throughout Lords of the Fallen is a great way to counteract this. In some areas, the bonus can quite quickly build up and restore substantial portions of health.

Where to find the Ring of Nourishment

To find the Ring of Nourishment, you need to make your way through most of Lower Carlath. Once you’ve climbed up to the large stone bridge on which the upper portions of the area are built, position yourself facing towards the path ahead. Turn left, and find a gap in the houses. Go down this alleyway and turn right. Slumped against the back of a burning house will be a corpse, which has this ring on it.

Queen Verena II’s Ring

Like the Ring of Nourishment, this one is a great support item if you’re struggling with keeping your health up. Queen Verena II’s Ring will slowly replenish health over time while equipped. It’s worth saying that the rate of health replenishment is tiny, so don’t expect this ring to come in clutch during combat. Outside of combat though, if you’ve patience enough, it can be a real boon while exploring, and gives you a slow but nonetheless viable alternative to using a Sanguinarix or other consumables to heal.

Where to find Verena II’s Ring

To find this ring, you’ll need to head up into the final section of Upper Calrath from the Forgotten Guardian Vestige. As you come to the sloped street with a pyromancer on the roof to the left, head into the Umbral Realm – it’s up to you if you want to deal with the enemies around prior to this. A ladder leading up to the roof will appear. Take it up and turn around – you’ll have a small wooden platform and a stone hand jutting out from the wall. After jumping over to the other side, you’ll find a number of ashen remains kneeling before an item, which is the ring in question.
