How to play multiplayer in Lords of the Fallen

To start a multiplayer game in Lords of the Fallen, simply go to a Vestige checkpoint and choose the ‘Multiplayer’ option in the menu. Within this menu, you will see some co-op options, to Beckon a friend or lampbearer, Accompany a lampbearer, and Slaughter a lampbearer. Multiplayer supports you and three friends in one session, so bring everyone you can.

To play with your friends, select Beckon a friend and then find them in your friends list to invite them to your game. Becking a lampbearer will invite a random player to your world who is currently looking to join. Accompany a lampbearer is answering someone’s call for help, adding you to the world of another host. Slaughter a lampbearer is the PvP option, similar to invading in Souls games and Elden Ring.

The best part about playing multiplayer in Lords of the Fallen is that there are zero barriers. You don’t need to get an item or use up a resource to do so. Furthermore, when you summon someone to your world, they can stick around for as long as they want. Once you’ve summoned someone or joined someone’s world, you won’t be kicked after clearing a boss or a level, meaning you can keep the multiplayer train rolling.

What about progression?

Sadly, progress is only taken into account for the host. This means if you clear a level with your friends, once they return to their own world they will have to do the same section again.

That’s all you need to know about how to play multiplayer in Lords of the Fallen. If you want more, we have guides covering how to parry and how to upgrade your weapons, both of which will help you get an idea of how to play.
