Best places to farm Vigor in Lords of the Fallen

Here’s a list of our top suggestions for the best farming spots in Lords of the Fallen.

  • Game start – The Umbral Realm under the stone bridge in the ruined village.
  • Early game – The powerful foe in the cave entrance to the Bellroom Vestige.
  • Early Mid-game – The upper streets of Lower Calrath.

Best game start farming location

If you’re looking for somewhere to collect a few hundred or thousand Vigor early on and level up fast, this place will set you up nicely for the fight through Pilgrim’s Path. From the Windmill Vestige, head up the path and you’ll quickly come to a stone bridge. There are a handful of enemies to dispatch here, but the real treasure lies under the bridge.

Take the path on the left down to the water, and head into the Umbral Realm. On the ensuing path underneath you’ll have your first in-game encounter with strange Umbral pods, which, when hatched, spawn in standard Umbral enemies. These enemies are easy to dispatch, and don’t provide much Vigor at all individually. However their large concentration here can garner you a decent few hundred Vigor in moments. Add in the proximity of the nearby Vestige, and running to and from here becomes a pretty easy routine. This is made even easier if you’re using the best starting weapon.

Best early game farming location

Once you’ve made your way through half of Pilgrim’s Perch, you’ll meet Byron, and find the Bellroom Vestige he’s tending to. This vestige is well-connected and tucked away in a cave just beyond the wooden platform, next to one of the doors opened by the Pilgrims Perch key with an entrance protected by one of the path’s more fearsome foes. The Ardent Penitent pilgrims are fast, strong, and extremely aggressive. That also means they’re worth a decent bit of Vigor.

Once you find yourself at a level strong enough to consistently deal with them, the Bellroom becomes a great farming spot. Simply spawn in, shift into the Umbral Realm with your Umbral Lamp for that 1.10x Vigor multiplier, break the Penitent Pilgrim’s shield, and defeat him for a quick and easy 500 or so Vigor. You can also run outside and kick the nearby Pilgrim from the ledge for an extra few Vigor if you don’t mind the few seconds of effort that takes. After that you need only walk back a few steps and repeat the progress. This is the perfect spot to come to if you’re in need of a handful of Vigor for purchasing items, or want to grab a couple of extra levels.

Best early mid-game farming location

As you enter Lower Calrath you may notice the difficulty starting to creep upwards. This can consequently be a challenging area to navigate, but where there’s challenge, there’s also opportunity.

Once you’ve explored thoroughly, you’ll be able to unlock a number of shortcuts all ultimately leading back to the Alehouse Vestige. From here, you’ve got a number of approaches for farming, but we’d recommend simply taking the right hand path down into the streets below. With a few ranged units, dogs, axemen, and smouldering corpses, there’s a decent enemy variety and density. Things remain just sparse enough to allow you time and space to fell opponents at a pace more suitable for you. Coupled with the number of ways in and out of these streets thanks to the Alehouse Vestige shortcuts, you’ve got a potential five minute gauntlet that can rack you up a couple of thousand Vigor in little to no time. You can also always try out some of the best rings or best builds in-game to improve your runs if you’re struggling.

How to farm Vigor in Lords of the Fallen

There are a couple more tips to consider when farming that’ll make your experience more efficient. First of all, you’ll get more Vigor while in the Umbral Realm, with a 1.10x modifier when you enter. Racking up kills will increase this modifier, though be wary, as staying in the dimension too long will summon overwhelmingly powerful enemies to fight you. Make sure you know how to enter and exit at will, and you shouldn’t have too many problems making the most of this.

Also consider your gear early on. There are a few items and ancillaries which can improve your farming efficiency. The Lucky Paw is a farmable consumable which will temporarily boost your item discovery rate. While not a direct boon to your farming, you can then sell off the additional items you collect for extra Vigor.

That covers our best farming spots in Lords of the Fallen. If you’re looking for some of the game’s other bests, such as the best starting class, need help with something specific like finding blacksmith Gerlinde, or want some general tips and tricks to help you out, we’ve got you covered.
