Normally, we only get raids up to 6-stars in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet; however, to commemorate the Year of the Rabbit, a 7-star Tera Raid for Cinderace has been added to the game. 7-star raids are notoriously difficult raids that are only available during special events in the game. Due to their difficulty, trainers who challenge them should prepare accordingly, as this is some of the toughest content available in the game.

Before deciding which Pokémon to choose, we should first establish some general tips to follow to succeed in Ciderace’s Tera Raid.

Now let us get on with the list of the 7 best Pokémon you can use to defeat Cinderace.

Slowbro (1/7)

  • Slack Off
  • Iron Defense
  • Nasty Plot
  • Stored Power

EVs: 252 HP / 252 Sp. Atk / 4 Def

Nature: Modest

Slowbro is one of the best counters for Cinderace that people have discovered for this Tera Raid. In fact, many people have managed to solo the raid with just Slowbro. For his build, you should try focusing your EVs on Sp.Attack and HP with a bit also put into Defense. Make sure your Slowbro has the Psychic Tera Type, and remember to equip it with the Life Orb.

Azumarill (2/7)

EVs: 252 HP / 252 Atk / 4 Def

Nature: Adamant

Due to its Water/Fairy typing, Azumaril is a great option for this Tera Raid, and many players will have an Azumarill ready from Charizard’s 7-star raid. Belly Drum and Helping Hand will be great support options. However, do note that it might be weak to Cinderace’s Iron Head attack due to its Fairy type, and Tera Raid bosses can neutralize Belly Drum

The tactics for this raid will be more or less similar to the previous one. Focus on bulking up your stats and debuffing Cinderace for the first few turns, and then shift to dealing large amounts of Physical Damage with Play Rough.

What Rewards Do You Get From Cinderace’s Tera Raid?

First of all, Cinderace is not a Pokémon you can normally encounter while roaming Paldea. So, if you are looking to complete that Pokédex, this Tera Raid is a must-do. This special Cinderace can be caught only once per save data.

You will get all the usual rewards that you get from 6-star Tera Raids, such as currency, Rare Candy, EXP items, and Tera Crystals. However, these rewards will be handed a lot more generously, especially if you manage to capture the Raid Boss.
