Diablo 4 story length

Based on our time playing Diablo 4, the main story will take the average player roughly 25 hours or so to complete. This number is contingent on you only focusing on the main campaign. This implies very little in the way of exploration, side quests, dungeons, and other optional activities. The hour count may fluctuate a little depending on your playstyle, class choice, world tier, and how familiar you are with the Diablo series, but don’t expect to sink any more than 35-40 hours to reach the epilogue. Expect the numbers to be the same for all of Diablo 4’s classes: Rogue, Necromancer, Barbarian, Sorcerer, and Druid.

Note that you can also skip the campaign in Season 3 after beating the Prologue so you can dive right into the seasonal storyline.

Diablo 4 100% completion length

If you’re looking to scratch that completionist itch and experience everything Diablo 4 has to offer, then expect to sink anywhere from 150 hours upwards. It’s been confirmed by associate game director Joseph Piepiora. This is a big jump from the campaign length you’d expect from most games. The game features a glut of side content such as dungeons, side quests, events, Altars of Lilith, shrines, regions, basements, strongholds, waypoints, and much more to complement the comparatively short story.

The amount of time these will take to beat depends on much of the game you want to cover. It also depends on whether or not you plan to dabble with post-game content. This is when most seasoned players agree where Diablo really opens up. You could spend all day wandering this giant map taking hunting for secrets and slaying every monster you see. We also have to factor in seasons that Blizzard has already confirmed and are on the way. So we can easily see a total 100% playtime swell to 200 hours, if not more.

Seasons are not accessible once they are over

Since each Season lasts for months, check out their content before the seasonal characters are sent to the Eternal Realm.

There’s already plenty of endgame content to sink your teeth into once you’ve beaten the story. You have the option to take on a World Boss or dip your toes into PvP modes. Or delve into some Nightmare Dungeons or simply aim for the level cap. Honing your stats and racking up achievements will itself take a while. Our Diablo 4 endgame guide goes into more depth on what you could get up to once the story campaign is done.

The new Seasons add even more content to the game. The first season, Season of the Malignant, brought a host of changes and a new Seasonal battle pass. In addition to the Diablo 4 battle pass, players also got to experience a new seasonal storyline alongside Cormond. This introduced rewards for the Diablo 4 Season Journey and tweaks to endgame activities and bosses.

The second season, Season of Blood, launched last October. In addition to another seasonal storyline with Diablo 4 Erys, you got to fight Lord Zir with vampire powers. Note that these can’t be used in the Eternal Realm. You also needed Diablo 4 vampiric pact armour to utilize them. While gathering Diablo 4 renown rewards used to be a chore for each character, Season 2 fixed that. This means you can start with bonus skill points, paragon points, potion charges, and obol capacity upgrades. You can still find waypoints and discover altars of Lilith if you haven’t done so.

Season of the Construct brings a new Senescal companion, a ranked Gauntlet mode, and a host of welcome improvements to Diablo 4. It’s well worth the time investment and builds on the foundation that Season 2 set.
