How to fight Lord Zir in Diablo 4 Season 2?

Lord Zir can be fought by summoning him with Exquisite Blood from Legion events in Diablo 4 Season 2’s World Tier 4 difficulty. Reaching World Tier 4 involves clearing the Diablo 4 Capstone dungeon. Legion events are large-scale events that take place in Diablo 4 that can be completed by beating the Servants of Hell.

Here are some common Legion event locations:

  • Fractured Peaks – Kor Dragan Stronghold
  • Dry Steppes – Norgoi Vigil
  • Dry Steppes – Temple of Rot
  • Hawezar – Crusader’s Monument
  • Hawezar – Haunted Wreckage
  • Kehjistan – Alcarnus
  • Kehjistan – Dilapidated Aqueducts
  • Scosglen – Carrowcrest Ruins

Some of these Legion events happen in Diablo 4 Strongholds. These areas need to be cleared first in order to access Gathering Legion events. While earlier seasons gave players up to three Radiant Chests, Season of Blood will also offer Exquisite Blood drops. Considering that Lord Zir is the final challenge of the Seasonal Realm’s new seasonal questline, he is going to be a tough foe to beat.

Lord Zir rewards in Diablo 4 Season 2

While taking down this threat alongside Diablo 4 Erys (voiced by Gemma Chan) won’t be easy, there’s a lot to gain here. Beating the Dark Master in his World Boss form has a chance of dropping The Diadem of the Ancient Helm cosmetic item. You can also get a shot at Unique items that are specific to this particular boss. Note that Uber uniques will drop only from Duriel.

Here’s what Blizzard had to say on the new endgame boss progression: “We have received feedback that there is a lack of variety in the Endgame experiences offered and that there are not enough opportunities to farm Unique and Uber Unique items. This group of Endgame bosses were created to pose a challenge to high-level players while allowing them to farm sought-after items in a fun and intense way.”

Here’s a list of all the Diablo 4 unique items you can get by slaying Lord Zir in Season of Blood.

That covers Lord Zir in Diablo 4. As you can see, these specific uniques can help all of Diablo 4’s classes: Druids, Necromancers, Barbarians, Rogues, and Sorcerers. Season of Blood brings a lot of refinements to the base game.

Blood Harvest activities and the Hunter’s Acclaim faction let you work towards new vampiric powers. Essential endgame activities like Helltides and Nightmare Dungeons have been revamped too. The former lets you work towards Grigoire, the Galvanic Saint while the latter takes you to The Beast in the Ice. You can tackle these new bosses and returning ones like Varshan as you progress in the Diablo 4 Battle Pass and Season Journey.

Note that these only apply to the brand-new Seasonal Realm from Season of Blood. And no, that doesn’t include the old Season of the Malignant. While it does mean starting from scratch, you don’t have to earn Diablo 4 renown rewards all over again. This means you will start off with bonus skill points, paragon points, potion charges, and obol capacity upgrades. Diablo 4 gems now stay in the stash instead of occupying inventory space.

Check out our Diablo 4 Paragon Glyphs guide to prepare for the merciless endgame. And if you’re keen on trying vampiric powers, remember that you’ll need the right Diablo 4 vampiric pact armour to activate them. The game’s second season drops this October on PC, PlayStation 5 (PS5), and Xbox Series X|S.
