On the hunt for Diablo 4 Silent Chest locations? Dotted around Sanctuary is a curious type of chest that only opens with Whispering Keys. This extra step to get them open translates to better spoils than your average chest so they are well worth tracking down if your character is looking a little drab on the gear front.
Though you’ll invariably come across a couple as you explore the Diablo 4 map, they remain fairly rare, so we’ll break down their exact locations in Sanctuary. To make finding them easier, it’s knowing how to get Murmuring Obols in Diablo 4 to make sure you’ve always got a Whispering Key from a Purveyor of Curiosities on hand. Also, keep track of the latest Diablo 4 Season 2 content. This will let you work on the Diablo 4 battle pass.

- The Devouring Moor, Fethis Wetlands, Hawezar
- Residential District, Caldeum, Kehjistan
Each of these is scattered across the game’s five regions. Read on to learn how to find these Silent Chest locations.
Whispering Keys
You can’t just open a Silent Chest in Diablo 4 – you need a key. It costs one Whispering Key to open any of the Silent Chests across Sanctuary, which you can get from the Purveyor of Curiosities.
Mistral Woods, Gale Valley, Fractured Peaks
Head to the northernmost part of the Mistral Woods, then look for a small cul-de-sac to the east to find a Secret Chest. It’s just south of the path to the Darkened Holt where you find Neyrelle as part of the Wayward and Shroud of Horadrim quests. There are two chests near the Yelesna waypoint. One’s north of it and the second one is to the east.
Lake Klokova, Frigid Expanse, Fractured Peaks
This chest is on the banks of the westernmost point of Lake Klokova in Fractured Peaks. Head out into the Frigid Expanse through the northeastern exit of Kyovashad and head east through a traversal point, then continue east until you hit a large frozen-over lake. The Silent Chest is nestled against a cliff. The Kyovashad and Bear Tribe Refuge waypoints are the closest to this chest.
Nevesk, Desolate Highlands, Fractured Peaks
Southeast of a waypoint in the area, you’ll spot the third Fractured Peaks Silent Chest. This wraps up the locations in the Fractured Peaks region of Diablo 4.
Dunes of Sorrow, Scouring Sands, Kehjistan
In the desert north of the Tarsarak waypoint, you’ll find a Silent Chest on the northern edge of a large chasm in the middle of the sand. You’ll recognize the chasm on the map as a big grey blotch in the middle of the desert. The Silent Chest is south of where you find Lorath and Meshif at the Forsaken Chapel for the Flesh from Bone quest.
The Devouring Moor, Fethis Wetlands, Hawezar
Take the road south out of the Ruins of Rakhat Keep waypoint and across the bridge into The Devouring Moor. Continue south until you reach a small settlement of crumbled ruins with enemies loitering around the area. The Silent Chest is at the center of the ruins near a crumbled shack.
Residential District, Caldeum, Kehjistan
The Silent Chest is located in the southwestern corner of the Residential District of Caldeum. It’s next to a fountain soaked in blood and just below an ornate staircase. Your best bet is to seek out the Silent Chest as you’re completing The Jewel of the East campaign quest, specifically during the Slay the Demons attacking Prava objective. The Imperial Library is the closest waypoint.
We’ll be updating this guide as we find more Diablo 4 Season 2 Silent Chest locations. Local events, resplendent chests, cursed chests, and clearing strongholds are a great way to build a stash of powerful gear. The coins will also let you respec your character.
As mentioned above, You can open these chests with Whispering Keys, which can be bought from the Purveyor of Curiosities vendor in big cities for 20 Murmuring Obols.
Here are the Diablo 4 Stronghold locations if you’re looking to fight various types of monsters to nab valuable loot as a Druid or Rogue. You’ll need to be at your best before facing the new Diablo 4 Season 2 endgame bosses.
Remember to switch to your Seasonal characters if you’re looking to amp your builds with Diablo 4 Malignant Hearts. While these will no longer work in Season of Blood, they have been replaced with Diablo 4 vampire powers. Equip the right Diablo 4 vampiric pact armor to use them. Happy Silent Chest hunting!
