Who is Erys in Diablo 4 Season 2?
Erys is a vampire hunter in Diablo 4 Season 2 who teams up with you to fight the vampire lord Zir. Just like Cormand from Season of the Malignant, Erys will get you up to speed with the latest developments in the world of Sanctuary, including mechanics and monsters. She is voiced by Gemma Chan. The actress is known for her work in Eternals and Crazy Rich Asians. Expect her to play a significant role even though she’s weary of losing friends to the plague.
“Gemma’s voice and passion for storytelling has brought a dark authenticity to Erys, who will accompany players as they continue their adventures in Sanctuary” notes Diablo franchise general manager Rod Fergusson. Expect these values to change in Season of Blood. Outside of familiar mechanics, expect new vampiric powers to be the highlight in Diablo 4 Season 2. As a daywalker, you aren’t entirely a vampire but you will get to use some of their devious skills.
You’ll need Pact Armor to use these powers and this also ties into a new faction in Diablo 4: the Hunter’s Acclaim. This anti-vampire threat faction tasks you with participating in Blood Harvest activities and hunting Blood Seekers. As you build your reputation, you’ll net sweet rewards and gear. Season blessings are back for the new season too.
Season of Blood also introduces new unique items, uber uniques, and sends Diablo 4 gems to your stash, not your inventory space. Diablo 4 renown rewards earned in other realms (Eternal Realm or Seasonal Realm) now transfers to new characters. This means that you’ll start with more paragon points, skill points, Obol capacity upgrades, and potion charges without any effort. You’ll also get to take on new endgame bosses outside of the new questline. Elemental resistances and status effects like Vulnerable and Critical Strike damage have been modified too. This also applies to tougher difficulties like World Tier 3 and World Tier 4 difficulties.
