Skins are the most popular type of cosmetic items in the game. Some accounts are worth thousands of dollars since they have rare skins that are no longer available. Due to this, many players are wondering if it’s possible to transfer skins. Skins also happen to be one of the most expensive aspects of the game, and if you suddenly need to open a new account on another platform, you might be wondering whether you can move skins to another account.

Can you transfer skins and how to do it

To many players’ surprise, Epic Games does allow players to send Fortnite skins between accounts, but with certain limitations. This means that you can move your skins to a PlayStation, Xbox, or Nintendo account if you’re a PC player. If you’re on a console, you can also send skins, but not to another account on the same gaming platform. If you’re looking to transfer your skins to another account, follow these simple steps:

  • Head over to the official Epic Games website on your browser
  • Log in with your Epic Games account
  • Open Account settings
  • Select Apps and Accounts from the left-side menu
  • Choose the platform you want to transfer your skins to (Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo)
  • Click the Connect button
  • Enter your platform’s login info to complete the process

The screenshot above shows what your account will look like once you transfer skins. If you are a PlayStation player, you can connect your Xbox or Nintendo account, and your skins will be automatically transferred to it. The procedure is identical for every system.

Naturally, you can use all of your skins on your PC by simply logging in with the Epic Games account. However, it’s important to note that you cannot transfer skins between Fortnite accounts on the same system. This means that PlayStation players cannot transfer skins to other PlayStation accounts. The same goes for Xbox and Nintendo players.

Once you link your console’s account to your Epic Games account, it will become permanently bound. You will be able to remove it in the future, but doing this won’t allow you to link another account from the same system. Due to this, please double-check everything before linking your accounts.

Of course, these methods are mostly going to be useful to transfer skins that you had to buy in-game. For most free Fortnite skins, it’s probably easier to just get the skin on your different accounts than to transfer them over.
