One of the best things Epic Games has done is make Fortnite work on almost every platform. That’s why millions of people try to be the last survivors on the island every day. With the addition of crossplay, players from different platforms can team up and get Victory Royales together. Since the game is available on PlayStation and Xbox as well, many players are wondering how to turn on Aim Assist in Fortnite. Aim Assist has been on the agenda of millions of gamers who love shooter games for many years. This mechanic exists to assist players who play Fortnite on a console or use a gamepad on a PC.
How to turn on Aim Assist on your Fortnite controller
If you play Fortnite on a console, make sure to turn on Aim Assist. It can sometimes be turned off in the default settings, it’s best to check this setting and turn it on when needed. Additionally, make sure to apply the best controller settings in Fortnite. If your settings are not good, you won’t get much out of the assist feature. You can follow the steps below to turn on aim assist in Fortnite:
- Open Settings from the Main Menu
- Open the Controller Settings tab
- Scroll down and find the Sensitivity section
- Enable Use Advanced Options
- Scroll down and find the Advanced – Sensitivity section
- Set Aim Assist Strength to 100% in this section
- Save the settings
Keep your Aim Assist at 100%
The Aim Assist Strength setting should always be at 100%. If you use Gyro controls, you can try to change this, although we don’t recommend it. The higher this setting is, the more easily you will hit your shots.
When you enable the advanced settings, dozens of additional settings will open up that will change the way you aim with your gamepad. It’s wise not to play with them too much because the game’s default settings are pretty good. However, you can try different settings to find the most accurate values for you. Once you change your controller settings, you should get into one of the Fortnite Creative maps for practice. This way, you can try your new settings out and adjust them before getting into a Battle Royale match.
Aim Assist in Fortnite is available on controllers on any device. This means that you can benefit from it on last-generation consoles, such as PlayStation 4, but also on Xbox Series X and PC. If you play Fortnite on Xbox Cloud Gaming, Amazon Luna, or GeForce Now, you’ll also benefit from aiming assistance, as long as you use a compatible controller. Otherwise, if you’re on PC, you should check out some of the best settings for your mouse and keyboard setup.
