In Starfield, Sniper Certification is a skill in the Combat category. By levelling up this skill, players will improve their efficacy with scoped ranged weapons. As an Expert-tier skill, players will need to invest 8 skill points in Combat skills before it can be unlocked. Later ranks are locked behind challenges.
Sniper Certification skill ranks

| Rank 1 | Players will be able to hold scoped weapons more steadily, with less sway when aiming. | Kill 50 enemies using a scoped weapon. |
| Rank 2 | Players will be able to hold their breath for longer when using scoped weapons. | Kill 125 enemies using a scoped weapon. |
| Rank 3 | Players will gain a 25% boost to critical hit chance when they score a headshot while aiming with a scoped weapon. | Kill 250 enemies using a scoped weapon. |
