Starfield:Research
In Starfield, players will be able to engage in research to discover new crafting recipes. Research is divided into five sections, each of which covers a different crafting area. New research projects can be unlocked by investing in certain skills.
Research consists of contributing certain resources and consumables to a project until all its needs are met. Occasionally, on completing a section of a research project, players will get a 'Sudden Development', which will automatically complete other sections of the project as well. By investing in the Research Methods skill, players can cut down the resources needed for research projects and increase the odds of a Sudden Development happening.
Pharmacology

The Pharmacology research branch provides new recipes to craft chems and pharmaceuticals at a Pharmaceutical Lab. Players can unlock new Pharmacology research projects by investing in the Chemistry skill.
