In Starfield, Nutrition is a skill in the Physical category. By levelling up this skill, players will get more benefits from consuming food and drink items. As an Advanced-tier skill, players will need to invest 4 skill points in Physical skills before it can be unlocked. Later ranks are locked behind challenges.
Nutrition skill ranks

| Rank 1 | The effects of food and drink items are 10% more effective. | Consume 10 items of food or drink. |
| Rank 2 | The effects of food and drink items are 20% more effective. | Consume 30 items of food or drink. |
| Rank 3 | The effects of food and drink items are 30% more effective. | Consume 75 items of food or drink. |
| Rank 4 | The effects of food and drink items are 50% more effective. | N/A |
