Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 is facing another bug – this time relating to the Showcase feature not working properly. This means that sometimes the Operator does not change in the game’s lobby.
Showcase is how the world sees you while waiting in the MW2 lobbies. It’ll display your chosen operator as well as your weapons, Calling Cards and other features.

Sometimes, the bug will cause your weapon to disappear completely. Other times, your Operator will not change to the skin you have selected. Instead, some gamers are being defaulted back to the Fender Operator, despite changing numerous elements such as weapons and Calling Cards.

The bug is causing a lot frustration, which is being voiced on the Modern Warfare 2 Reddit. One gamer wrote: “Fender is locked but somehow I’m stuck as fender lol.”
Another added: “Same here. I can change it, and it says it’s selected, but when I back out, I have the same old sh** still equipped.”

Annoyingly, there is currently no definitive fix for this, although it’s so jarring that we are certain Infinity Ward will be rolling out a fix in the coming days. Nothing has been officially said via Infinity Ward’s Twitter account, yet, about this error.
Some are reporting that if you keep selecting your desired Operator and associated elements (Emblem, Calling Card etc.) then this eventually overrides the Fender Operator after multiple attempts.
This is the latest in a number of bugs facing Modern Warfare 2 players, who have been greeted with the ‘reset rank’ error on launch day, as well as Vault edition rewards not appearing in the game.
When you do manage to get into the Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer, which seems to have stabilized over the weekend performance wise and is brilliant fun, mastering it is no easy task.
