Hyper training allows you to max out a Pokemon’s IV (individual values) which determine the six main stats of Pokemon in general, those being HP, attack, special attack, defense, special defense, and speed.

Hyper training can be used to raise a Pokemon’s stat to the highest or best level, but it can only be done using bottle caps. Speaking of bottle caps, there are four known ways of getting bottle caps in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet, but only one of them is reliable while the other three depend on luck.

Method #1: Purchasing Them From Delibird Presents
Perhaps the most reliable way of getting bottle caps in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet is by buying them from your nearest Delibird Presents Store for 20,000 a piece. As soon as you defeat the sixth gym in the Victory Road quest, they’ll become available for purchase.

Although there’s a limitless amount of them in the stores, 20,000 Poke Dollars is not a small price to pay. That said, as long as you keep the money coming, they’ll make sure the bottle caps do too.
Method #2: Finding Them In the Wild
The first method that depends on luck is finding bottle caps in the wild. Although rare, sometimes bottle caps can be found around the region of Paldea and picked up. If you see a white shining thing on the grind, that means it’s a pickable item.

Method #3: Winning Them From the Auction
Although very rare, the second method of getting bottle caps that depends on luck is finding gold bottle caps up for auction at the Porto Marinada auction. However, because the auctions don’t work as regular shops do, you’ll have to put in a bid and ensure you outbid the other potential buyers.

One gold bottle cap is worth the same as six regular ones, so keep that in mind when deciding how much you want to spend on it. The prices of these gold bottle caps often soar into the six figure range easily. If the price gets to over 120,000 Poke Dollars then you’re better off buying six regular bottle caps using the first method (Delibird Presents).

Method #4: From Raids
Finally, bottle caps can also be earned as rare rewards from Tera Raid Battles. Six and five star raids to be exact, as those give you the highest chance of receiving one or more of them after completing them successfully.

Although the higher the star rating the higher the chance of getting bottle caps, the difficulty increases as well, so we recommend you have a couple of friends backing you up as well when you go raiding.

Although hyper training a Pokemon is very advantageous, especially for late game, one thing to keep in mind is that the hyper trained IV doesn’t get pass down via breeding as only the natural IV of a Pokemon does.
