The Apex Legends Post Malone collaboration event has been announced, marking the next major event for Respawn Entertainment’s battle royale. So what is it, when is it, and what can you expect from it?

Here, we’re going to explain everything you need to know about the Apex Post Malone collaboration event, just as we did for the Doppelganger event and Death Dynasty event before it.

What is the Apex Legends X Post Malone event?

The Post Malone collaboration event is a joint collaboration between Respawn Entertainment and Post Malone, bringing limited time skins, rewards, and a new game mode to Apex Legends. It’s limited-time, and it’s the biggest partnership in Apex Legends history, promising weeks of beautiful mayhem. The event includes the following features:

  • Unique limited time streetwear style skins and cosmetics designed in direct collaboration with Post Malone.
  • A merch sweepstakes tie in.
  • A new limited time mode, Three Strikes.

All of these will be available to all players on PC and console platforms from the event’s launch.

Three Strikes game mode explained

The highlight of this collaboration event for many players will be the debut of a brand-new mode arriving with it. Three Strikes is a special version of your standard battle royale, differing in a few key ways.

The core premise of the game mode is that each squad has three lives. Any time a squad is fully eliminated, one life is lost and the team respawns with most of their loot and gear. Once all three are gone, that team is eliminated from the match for good.

There are a couple of other caveats though. When someone is downed, they can’t take damage, meaning you can knock opponents, but the only way to get rid of them for good is to wipe the team. Secondly, revives are much, much faster, taking only a handful of seconds. This allows teammates to revive fallen comrades even during firefights without too much issue.

The aim here is for ferocious, fast-paced, but longer lasting gameplay that rewards consistent skill, strategy, and coordination to overcome the odds. We expect that like the Halloween event rewards, you’ll be able to pick up some of the limited time rewards through playing this game mode.

Apex Legends Post Malone collaboration event rewards and event cosmetics

As mentioned, the rewards for this event will primarily be in new skins, particularly for various Legends. Lifeline, Octane, Wraith and Horizon will all have new skins. You’ll be able to unlock these through a rewards shop by earning Camo Credits by participating in the events and finishing daily challenges. These skins were designed in concert with Post and his team, and thus reflect a unique kind of aesthetic not really seen anywhere else in the game. At the moment, we don’t have a catalogue of the rewards available, but we’ll add one here once we do.

There will be a handful of other sorts of rewards too though. Twitch drops and new music videos will become a part of the celebrations too.

Apex Legends Post Malone collaboration event start and end time

The Post Malone collaboration event and Three Strikes game mode are set to drop on November 7. They’ll run for a total of two weeks before ending on November 21. While we don’t know the exact start and end times yet, it’ll likely follow trends set by previous events, starting and ending at 10 AM ET After this, you’ll likely still be able to pick up any rewards you missed, but probably only through the store when they’re in rotation.

That’s everything you should need to know about the Apex Legends Post Malone collaboration event. Make sure you step into Three Strikes with the best weapons and best Legends at your disposal if you’re playing to win, though.
