Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 (MW2) launched its all new DMZ mode last November and it has been quite the hit.
Arriving in beta form first alongside Warzone 2, DMZ allows up to three players to drop into the dangerous state of Al Mazrah, taking on a number of Faction Missions, collecting loot, and acquiring all important XP.
One of the big draws of DMZ are the rewards. Not only can you exfiltrate with new items and weapons for your loadouts. But Infinity Ward has also confirmed a number of larger rewards you can get via the DMZ mode, which we’ll go into.
In addition, MW2 made a statement that insured weapon slots unlocked from previous factions missions in DMZ, will not be reset, despite concerns arising on the matter prior to Season 2. Moreover, Season 01 mission and boss enemy rewards will also not be reset as well (doesn’t include Contraband or Keys though). This is a major sigh of relief considering how much time many have put into the game mode to unlock these insured weapon slots and rewards.
For a detailed look at the DMZ mode, including a breakdown of the core gameplay mechanics, you can check out our Call of Duty DMZ guide.
DMZ Mode Rewards So Far
Infinity Ward has confirmed there are a number of rewards available for players who play the DMZ mode. These range from tokens that boost XP for a limited time to rare weapon blueprints.
The following rewards are available in DMZ mode:
- Double XP Tokens
- Calling Cards
- Weapon Charms
- Weapon Blueprints
- Contraband Weapons
- Operator Skins
- Other cosmetic items
- Stronghold Keys
In addition to these rewards, DMZ also has something called ‘Rare Weapons Case’ missions, with only one dropping for the whole lobby to go after. These rare weapon cases come with great rewards as well that fans will want to get their hands on.
Upon dropping into a DMZ match, you will see that rare weapons case icons appear on your tac map in yellow and come with a small radius as well. If it’s in yellow, the weapons case will be in the hands of the tough AI combatant known as the Juggernaut. Should the color change to red, that means another team of operators is in possession of the rare weapons case.
Whether you confront a full team of operators or just a variety of AI bots and the Juggernaut, you will need to retrieve the rare weapons case and successfully exfil. If you do so, you will receive one of the seven rewards listed down below:
- Caution Tape (RPK Blueprint)
- Biohazard Operator Skin (König)
- Biohazard Weapon Sticker
- Gas Gas Gas Weapon Charm
- Jungle Incognito Vehicle Skin
- Weapon Crate Calling Card
- Weapon Crate Emblem
DMZ Ashika Island Rewards
Similarly to Building 21, Warzone 2 added in Ashika Island to their DMZ map as well. And as you can imagine, this very location comes with its share of exclusive Weapons Case rewards as well.
The high-valued Ashika Island Weapons Case is in the Castle POI, where only one Weapons Case is available. Fans will need to fend off challenging AI bots as well as operators looking to secure the case as well.
Should you exfil seven times with the Ashika Island Weapons Case, you’ll receive seven different rewards.
Here’s the full list of rewards:
- Backup Plan (Handgun Blueprint)
- Aces (Emblem)
- Full House (Emblem)
- Full House (Calling Card)
- Bear With Me (Weapon Sticker)
- Triple Threat (Loading Screen)
- Fight Night (TAQ-56 Blueprint)

DMZ Building 21 Rewards
One of the newest sensations in Call of Duty Warzone 2’s DMZ mode, has been that of the deadly Building 21. Requiring you and your team to have its key in order to access it, Building 21 also comes with some excellent rewards should you depart from it successfully with its corresponding weapons cases.
To begin with, there’s a total of six weapons cases players can secure, each coming with their own unique cosmetic reward. However, the ultimate prize you can retrieve from one of these weapon cases, is that of the Silver Tox Blueprint for the new Chimera assault rifle in MW2.
Keep in mind that to receive all six rewards from Building 21, players will need to visit it six times and come out of it alive with one weapons case each time. So without further ado, here’s all six rewards you can acquire in Building 21 in Warzone 2’s DMZ mode:
- Going Bark (Charm)
- Weapon Rover (Calling Card)
- Company Sniper (Emblem)
- Roar (Weapon Sticker)
- Camo Cloud (Vehicle Skin)
- Silver Tox (Chimera Blueprint)
DMZ M13B Assault Rifle Reward
Despite these great prizes, the ultimate reward is the M13B Assault Rifle, which can be used across all Modern Warfare II or Warzone 2.0 modes. The M13B is part of the Bruen Ops Platform along with the new BAS-P SMG.
In order to secure the M13B Assault Rifle, players need to locate what Call of Duty calls the ‘Contaminated Zone’ on the Al Mazrah DMZ map. Upon locating it, players will need to go into the radioactive zone and takeout an AI player known as the ‘Chemist’.
Once you kill the Chemist, he will drop a weapon blueprint of the M13B Assault Rifle, which you can pick up and stash. That said, the key next part for players that do retrieve the M13B, is that they will need to extract it from DMZ successfully in order to actually unlock it and use it in custom loadouts.
This applies for any weapons blueprint you extract, whether you have it unlocked or not prior to entering your DMZ match.
